I wanted to write to Mikey Weinstein because of an article I had just read online regarding an Evangelist speaker at the Pentagon.
I like that groups such as yours respond take action against this, and think that the real problem at hand here is not so much that Mr. Graham said that Islam is “evil”, but rather the following, (which I believe will help support your role in seeing that this event does not take place):
Evangelicals and evangelical Christianity has a strong belief in the end of times, and particularly the “rapture”, in which Israel is destroyed, and that the evangelicals will “rise up”, and that the rest of the non-evangelicals will go to hell.
Having Evangelists speaking to our military leaders encourages conflict in the Middle East by using religious purposes as a means to promote further war.
