Good afternoon,

I’m sure you’re aware of the controversary about your husband’s comments over the National Day of Prayer.  Honestly, if this were a Jewish-related event, would you really protest or even make comments to stir up media attention? I think we both know the answer to that.

Jesus loves you.

Hi Ms. (name withheld),

Thanks for your note to MRFF.

Mrs. Weinstein is, indeed aware of the controversy following MRFF’s complaint that Rev. Graham was unsuitable as a speaker for this NDP at the Pentagon.

She hasn’t been able to discuss much of this with Mr. Weinstein as she is recovering from a dystrophic illness brought about by death threats to her person and her children and physical damage and vandalism to their home by self identified Christian terrorists. We are hoping she will be alright. I know your prayers will be with her.

The National Day of Prayer started out as a non-sectarian, non denominational event for all religious beliefs but over the years has become a Christian dominated event which, I’m afraid, violates the First Amendment to the constitution. You see, a government agency or department cannot demonstrate favor, preference or advancement of any particular religion. Nor can they promote an event legally in which only one religion is featured. So this could not have been a Jewish only event.

So, you see, it was the right thing to do to request Graham be disinvited. His vocal, negative views on Islam
were against America’s constitutional policy not to denigrate religions.

America, as you know, is a secular nation, in which all religions may flourish but none dominate. Graham and the NDP Committee, consisting of all Christians got a little to big for their pants.

Thanks again for your note and please join us on our web site: militaryreligiousfreedom.org to learn more about us and our work to keep our young men and women in the armed forces from being subject to coercive and overt Christian proselytizing.
