Running the country?

Dear MRFF:

I would like to know who runs this country anyway? The American People or those who are secretly against God’s Chosen People.  I am sick and tired as are others to the notion that we have to dance to others (countries) rules and not our own. We are on a downhill slide because of such nonsense that is going on in our civilization today. No wonder everything is in a turmoil. Come here, speaka de english, or adapt to our customs and/or stay home.

This is our country and it is traditionally Christian from day one. Get over it!

Hi (name withheld),

Just listen to you!

You are sounding more sinister than our Muslim friends.  I can understand pride in one’s faith and the reassurance it provides.  But when it turns into thoughts of supremacy, then you are no better than those against whom you are complaining.

Who is running the country? A slate of freely and duly elected men and women who are governing  under a mandate from the people. If you have issues with government, take it up with the electorate or get enough voters together to make a change. That is the American way.

So, you are among the chosen people, eh?  Please forward any documentation you may have which assigns any special rights to you, Christianity at large or any other belief system for that matter.  The USA is officially religion neutral and our government may not favor or promote any particular religion, including Christianity.

Our constitution provides for a separation  of Church and State.  Effective from day one, this makes America a secular nation in which all religions may flourish but none dominate. Get over it.
