Mikey,

From a reader of my site:

(name withheld)  commented on We Must STOP Eating Our Own!! – God’s Own Party?:

I am so happy that former Ambassador Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame led the charge against the bone-headed decision to rescind Mikey Weinstein’s honor. I am proud of everyone who joined their protest and voice their opinions and resigned. It speaks well of their character and courage.

I am ashamed of the Palisades Democratic Club’s narrow-minded vision. Its leaders seem to have lost their ability to see the most important issues, the larger vision of what they purport to stand for and have, instead, settled for a partisan, blinders-on approach to honoring those who stand for the best in our national spirit. Where is the integrity in this organization? They have lowered themselves to a partisan level equal to the vengeful Sarah Palin, demonstrating they have as little understanding of history (e.g., Wilson’s service to two administrations – one Democratic and the other Republican) and appreciation of what it means to be an American (all parties should work towards the good of the whole).

My thanks to former Ambassador Wilson and to Valerie Plame for using their prominence to bring this issue to light. My apologies to Mikey Weinstein that an organization such as the Palisades Democratic Club, would be so petty and short-sighted as to insult the work he has done and what he stands for and against.

These people, along with Ed Asner and Gary Bettman, should be applauded by everyone who believes in honor and integrity. Bruce Wilson and Leah Burton belong in this list as well. As analysts and reporters, they serve the country’s best interests by exposing bigotry and lies.

I thank you all for your service to this country. You don’t have to wear a uniform to serve the ideals upon which our country was founded and which have been fine-tuned over the years in hopes of bringing out the best in our citizens and offering protection and opportunity for all.
