Dear Editor,

Reference to Commander Frank Cole, U.S. Coast Guard, Ret. letter to the editor,
He states, “The notion that five faculty members at the AFA could sue the Academy on behalf of Mikey Weinstein and his organization is outrageous. I hope the superintendent can find a way to fire these officers who have no concept of loyalty to their commander …:”

Is Commander Cole really serious that the Superintendent ought to fire the five officers who brought a suit on the grounds of freedom of religion? These five officers have exercised their Constitutional rights by bringing a case to court to redress a perceived violation of their rights. This is why this country has courts and not lynchings. Does the Commander propose another method of presenting a grievance?

Be careful what you wish for, Commander.

Frederick V. Malmstrom,
Monument, CO
