My Visit Today at Auschwitz-Birkenau

Dear Mikey:

Nothing new here for me except the size of this place…40 Sq. Kilometers. One can’t walk around the damn place in an afternoon.

But Mikey, I see it different. I don’t see it as much about the Jews, Gypsies or whatever as an out of control and unrestrained government and military. The Jews were just a symptom of a more systemic problem in Germany. That’s why the Founders set up the controls and feedback mechanisms they did. The more I learn about history and government the more the founders impress me.

And that’s why what you’re doing is so important.

Since Lincoln and then with Wilson, FDR, LBJ and Bush II our system has been seriously damaged. You understand the power our military now has? And then there’s the lack of freedom of the press on the battlefield, no more draft so fewer people noticing or caring about military activities and lots more that I don’t have time to go into at the moment. But Eisenhower warned us.

Remember Bush 1 said Atheists were not real Americans. I guess that’s no different than the Jews not being real Americans. And I saw few coming to my defense. I guess with a full stomach and gas tank we forget.
