Dear Military Religious Freedom Foundation:

Thanks for making people of faith look like quacks, and mindless creatures. IF you think you have done favors for the military you are fooling yourselves. In combat there are few atheists, and few who wouldn’t like to have faith in something. When the going gets tough it would be incredibly naïve to think the end is hopeless and not stand and fight for all your beliefs. Boo to you and your organization. I pray one day you will have the faith to look up and see redemption before it is too late. I stand for Jesus Christ, I live for Jesus Christ, and I will die preaching for Jesus Christ. To do otherwise would be betraying the one who made this country great! Think I am wrong? Remember we are all created equal, with unalienable rights endowed by our creator. The whole point of our very existence. We will be praying for you folks. We hope you realize that a truly religious Christian fanatic will die in your place rather than let someone of another faith kill because they want to force their beliefs on the rest of the world.

Dear (name withheld)

Your defensiveness overshadows your professed position as a follower of Jesus Christ. As a mainstream Christian I am offended by your broad brushed insinuation that our organization is in any way anti-Christian. We are, without a doubt, anti-extremism and Dominionists are extremists; we are, without a doubt for freedom of religion; and we are, without a doubt, defenders of the U.S. Constitution; we are, without a doubt, defenders of personal freedoms afforded under that very Constitution that our armed forces personnel take an oath to uphold. Those of us that turn to prayer, including Mikey each and every day, also take offense to your pious haughtiness that you are somehow superior to us based on your belief in Christ.

You are clearly identifying with an extreme sect of Christianity known as Dominionism. IF you do not ascribe to their theology, I recommend that you educate yourself about what they believe. If you DO count yourself among their midst – then there is nothing that can be conveyed here to convince you to open your mind and allow Christ’s love, compassion and tolerance of all God’s children to overshadow the anger and paranoia that screams out from your words.

Standing for Christ should not repel others due to your militant delivery. No one is taking your right to worship away from you, we simply defend the rights of others not to be thumped relentlessly by the Bible from those like yourself who apparently take the task of proselytizing to an aggressive level. “By your good deeds they shall know you”…that is more my style of sharing the Good News.

We welcome your prayers, as I am sure you do ours. Let me remind you that Christ warned – “Pride goeth before the fall”. NO one has proprietary rights to how one follows their faith. Studying the lessons of humbleness in the Bible are of great benefit to us all. I highly recommend it!

Finally, you also take license to offend those in this organization who have sacrificed for this country as they served in the military – defending your right to be a sanctimonious zealot!

May God bless you & grant you peace,

Really? How many times has it’s been said (and documented) that our country was not founded on christian or biblical or theological principals? A piece of paper written by men documents the “we are all created equal, with unalienable rights endowed by our creator” not a deity. There are more non-believers in foxholes then you know, mostly because they do not care to share or wear their religion on their sleeves. So please, remember that you are not speaking to some ignorant god fearing mindless automatons and let us (Military Members active/retired/former) decide what we want to believe or not…and forcing YOUR beliefs on us!
