Where’s the memo?

Dear Mikey and MRFF,

Here we are, almost a whole month after Gen Schwartz, our Air Force Chief of Staff, released a memorandum addressed to the ENTIRE Air Force, setting the record straight about the need for religious neutrality in every level of command. The letter, which was unprecedented, starts, “Leaders at all levels…,” which conveys the obvious intent for the message to be disseminated down to the lowest levels of command, yet here at the Air Force Academy, the letter remains somewhat of a mystery. Various news sources state that our Superintendent, Lt Gen Gould, and our Dean of Faculty, Brig Gen Born, shared the memo with their respective staffs and leaders, but I remain baffled about why the letter hasn’t been officially released. In fact, I find it unconscionable that such an important directive hasn’t been sent to the lowest levels, especially in light of the fact that other Air Force units did so immediately. A “Dist-P” (meaning that every person with a USAFA email account gets it) would have been the easiest, most efficient way to take care of this, but no. I got my copy from you. And now, thanks to you, others can see it in great big letters: on a billboard outside the Academy. Thanks for all you do, Mikey.
