“Mikey Weinstein up to his aggravation yet again!!!! See article below….

Miffed AFA critic puts religious respect memo on billboard”

“Apparently Mikey Weinstein is uneducated on Christian principles. If he were, he would understand that part of our Christian beliefs includes witnessing to others. Jesus told us to go and make disciples of all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. It is the nonbelievers who do not want Christians to practice their religion. Uneducated atheists want to call it proselytizing, but we simply call it witnessing.

Some people will never be happy and move on.

Above are some characters from the yahoo parent support page for class of 2015 expressing support for proselytizing/witnessing of the non Christian cadets. Our son is at USAFA out of a deep sense of gratitude to this country for taking in his grandfather after he survived 3 years in Auschwitz. How do I convey my anguish at the thought of my son being exposed to a gauntlet of witnessing or proselytizing for being a Jew?! Perhaps focusing on the personal will better convey the inappropriateness of this kind of religious arrogance.

We’ve seen what exclusionary religious or racist regimes are capable of. The beauty of THIS country as opposed to others is that we have constitutionally protected rights of equality and freedom of religion to protect everyone. If the watchdogs cannot express their dissatisfaction of where the system has failed, then what kind of democratic country is this? There is a reason for accountability and checks and balances. I for one, am grateful for all of it.

After what our son’s grandfather went through to merely survive (having lost 4 younger siblings, mom, dad, and a myriad of other relatives only 65 years ago, must our son defend his beliefs once again while in defense of this country? As his mother and of course with his father’s blessing, we are appalled at the lack of education and historical understanding by these parents on the parent page. There is a reason for our constitution. I humbly suggest these people read up on their world history before attempting to make ok – the solicitation of, proselytizing of or witnessing (same thing though it sounds more passive!) in the attempt to convert our children! Is our son not equally entitled to serve his country of which he remains very proud or shall he be ostracized for being different though no less capable of military and added academic success

I absolutely insist on our anonymity for obvious reasons!

I have not even begun to mention that oh by the way, this is a public institution we are speaking of. One that is publically funded by our tax dollars- Christian, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, etc tax dollars.

I sympathise with you entirely that your son’s rights are being taken away by these fanatics. I am totally fed up being “witnessed” to, as well. It’s rude, presumptious and an invasion of privacy. The world need more Michael Weinsteins.
