Call to Rush’s talk show today

At 12:45 this afternoon I returned to my car and of course the radio was tuned to the Rush Limbaugh show as it always is. The call in progress was about Samaritan’s Purse and the USAF being “forced” to cancel plans to support this charity which just gives Christmas presents to poor kids all over the world. The phrase “poor kids all over the world” was reiterated several times. The caller was not extremely emotional about his complaint but he obviously did not think it was a good move on the part of the USAF to do this. Rush then said that the organization that was complaining was the MRFF and it was headed by a man named Mikey Weinstein. He mentioned that the complaint was being brought by 2 Muslim parents who felt uncomfortable with the USAFA being involved in this. I didn’t hear any editorial comment or opinion about it being good or bad, but reading between the lines I got the impression that Rush did agree in general with the caller. He repeated the description of Samaritan’s Purse’s mission being to bring gifts to “poor kids all over the world” twice.

I was listening intently for any derogatory statements about you or the MRFF, and to be honest I cannot quote exactly what he did say, but I did not hear any rude name calling. But once again the message of MRFF is completely misunderstood and that upsets me.

I personally have contributed to Samaritan’s Purse, I will in the future, and I still do not want any governmental organization to get involved in this process. (Let Caesar take care of what belongs to Caesar!) Nor do I want my tax dollars to go to this or any similar organization — representing any religion.
