“Mikey” – I cannot believe that one person is so evil and twisted as to browbeat the military into depriving thousands upon thousands of deprived kids both the necessities and toys they otherwise would never receive – and just because this evil and twisted person does not believe in God! I know that I am saved, so I guess we’ll never meet in the next life. What a sorry and pitiful person you must be!

Dear (name withheld),

Mikey has read your email and has asked me to respond on behalf of MRFF.

First of all, please take a deep breath and remain calm. All of us here at MRFF want you to live a long and prosperous life.
Now, let’s work on getting you better informed.

You should be aware that OCC continues unabated at USAFA simply with the lead change as requested by MRFF. A change by the way, requested by MRFF, in order to follow clear direction recently ordered by the Air Force Chief of Staff (http://www.airforcetimes.com/news/2011/09/air-force-schwartz-warns-commanders-on-religious-programs-091611/). Confirmation of this can be seen in this USAFA press release:

Academy responds to cadet community project — Community project will continue, led by Academy Chaplains

Regardless of whatever “news” source inspired you to deliver such wild accusations along with a ‘post-conviction sentence’, facts are still facts. As a Christian volunteer with MRFF, I have found the easy willingness of many like you to bear false witness against Mikey or MRFF in this matter to be quite troubling. Assumptions based on factual ignorance reveal pre-conceptions and nothing else. This may create a cheap anger driven adrenaline thrill, but accomplishes nothing.

To be clear, MRFF did not “Grinch” some toys out of the hands of children and, in fact, has engaged in several toy drives itself. Rather, through its assertions to the academy and other military commands, MRFF is trying to look out for children by assuring the most powerful military in the world doesn’t promote or disparage any religion, which, as history has shown us, can lead to horrific consequences for those, including children, who don’t belong to the “preferred” religion.

Your consideration of this information is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Andy Kasehagen
