Saw the info on the new book—congrats, I can’t wait to read it. You know, I thought of the foundation again the other week when I was at the AETC Symposium in San Antonio. No mention was made in any of the sessions about how to handle religious matters in training and education even though this would have been a great opportunity to reiterate the CSAF’s stance given USAFA’s on-going issues, the “Jesus Loves Nukes” fiasco out at Vandenberg, and the AFROTC curriculum problems this past year. I was very disappointed these matters were not discussed especially since 3500 people were in attendance from across the Command. What a perfect opportunity to put everyone on the same page! I was, however, subjected to prayers offered by Christian chaplains before lunch both days. And these were not optional lunches—we paid $95 in conference fees and lunches were included, thus we only got partial per diem and would not have been reimbursed if we decided to go have a “non-prayer” lunch on our own. As always, I did not bow my head and made sure to stare around the room in protest only to reap the usual evil stares from all those “Amen”ing in Jesus’ name. To be honest, its sometimes pretty embarrassing, especially since we had so many International/Allied partners in attendance.
Have a great weekend!

” As always,I did not bow my head, and I made sure to stare around the room in protest…”. What are you 12 years old? How juvenile. Sounds like a letter I used to get from sons at camp, and they were about that age some younger, some older.
By the time they were in the Air Force, the letters were a bit more mature.
Mature, well adjusted adults would have stood quietly and respectfully on this occasion.
Probably would not have found it necessary to tattle either.
