“MRFF Demands that Marine
Dear Military Religious Freedom Foundation,

Corps Leadership Immediately Investigate Usage of Nazi SS Flag
by Marines
in Afghanistan ”

How ignorant you people are, the
SS “lightning bolts” are old runic alphabet letters
The lightening bolt (as you call it) is NOT a lightening bolt, it is a
rune. S: The sun, rune name Sowilo

(S: The sun.) Success, goals achieved, honor. The life-force, health. A
time when power will be available to you for positive changes in your
life, victory, health, and success. Contact between the higher self and
the unconscious. Wholeness, power, elemental force, sword of flame,
cleansing fire. Sowilo Merkstave (Sowilo cannot be reversed, but may lie
in opposition): False goals, bad counsel, false success, gullibility,
loss of goals. Destruction, retribution, justice, casting down of
vanity. Wrath of god.

Are you saying these attributes are not befitting marines who are
fighting for your freedom!

Dear (name withheld),

We are familiar with all the esoteric descriptions of the Rune Sowilo. This issue is not about what the emblem means to language scholars or history majors. Our interests center on the 12 year Nazi Reich in which the SS emblem was a symbol of tyranny, racism, religious supremacy and the hallmark of genocide for the many millions of Jews and other unfortunates to perish under its auspices.

Ignorance is the lack of educating oneself to the intended meaning of political and religious symbols especially as they relate to the armed forces. It is also the total disregard for the many Jews who serve in today’s American forces to whom the SS symbol is as frightening as the hangman’ noose was for African Americans and for the denigration of the millions of our greatest generation who fought and died in W.W.II.

The only way our armed forces can fight effectively for our freedom is to be free themselves from overbearing religious and political display.

As a former Air Force Officer and Rescue Pilot having served two combat tours in Vietnam I feel qualified to render a judgment on this issue.

Sincerely,

Rick Baker
MRFF Supporter
and former Volunteer.
