Mr. Weinstein, those of us who feel manipulated and bullied by Christian triumphalists, whether in the armed services or not, are fortunate to have in you one of our most eloquent and intrepid champions of unabridged citizenship rights for religious moderates, nonsectarians, and nonbelievers. In your public appearances and writings, you stand comparison with the most forceful defenders of Constitutional liberty, and the settled norms of democracy, in…our…history. Eternal vigilance was the watchword of the Founders, to which we must necessarily add eternal advocacy. Thank you for meeting the challenges we face so fearlessly, and so brilliantly.
