While Fox News proudly defends the First Amendment rights of persecuted Christians, they lambaste groups that defend those who believe that their First Amendment rights are being violated by those with a religious agenda. For Fox, these organizations are labeled as “atheist” groups, as that serves Fox’s anti-atheist message. The Military Religious Freedom Foundation, headed by Mikey Weinstein, is frequently targeted by Fox News which describes it as an “atheist group.” This is a lie. The MRFF is dedicated to “ensuring that all members of the United States Armed Forces fully receive the Constitutional guarantee of religious freedom” and serves a 96% Christian clientele. Recently, while engaging in yet another Fox attack on Weinstein, Megyn Kelly referred to the MRFF as an atheist group. “Truth detector” Kelly got caught in a lie and now has a legal letter addressing that inconvenient truth!

In April, Megyn Kelly hosted Dr. and Mrs. James Dobson who attacked Weinstein for his contention that uniformed service members should not be in attendance at the Dobson’s National Day of Prayer service held in a federal building. In setting the stage for the Dobsons to smear Weinstein, Kelly reported that the National Day of Prayer “has come under attack by an atheist group.” Dr. Dobson described Weinstein as a “professional atheist.” Kelly used the term “atheist group” when she reported on Weinstein’s complaint to the DOD. So the message was that Weinstein is an atheist and his group advocates for atheists. Weinstein’s letter to Kelly says otherwise.
