To Whom:

Read a story that contained comments by your organization on:
a speech:
“In a speech at a National Day of Prayer Task Force event on May 7, Maj. Gen. Craig Olson”

The only thing out of line is you and your organization.  Free speech not only applies to you, it is a right to all!  Considering that he spent a good part of his life defending free speech, this attack on him is pointless and just displays mindless hatred.

Grow up!

Dear (name withheld),
Here at MRFF we fully support General Olson’s rights to free speech.  What we don’t support is the use of military rank to advance religious principles.  Now, you might say, “all he did was talk about how great it is to be Christian.”  Sure, but he did so in the wrong time, place, and manner.  He did so while wearing in uniform at a public venue operated in part by the government.  There is actually precedent for generals being dismissed for using their rank and uniform to further religious principles.  Do a quick search for Jerry Boykin if you’re not already familiar with the story.
Cheers,
Blake

Blake

Wrong again!  He was relaying a personal story i.e. life journey.  He was not promoting or endorsing Christianity.  Again, tolerance goes both ways!  You are waking the “sleeping giant”.  Keep it up!

Dear (name withheld),

I’m sure you’re suggesting that you and your ilk would like to overthrow the government and impose a Christian theocracy over the United States with your sleeping giant remark.  Either that or you’re suggesting that you and yours would like to take up and and hunt down and kill people like myself.  I’ve heard it all before.  I would very much like for you to take a moment and sit down with those close to you, perhaps your children if you have any, and tell them in detail how you feel about violence, murder, and the like.  If you can’t do that with confidence your threats are hollow.  On the other hand, if you can do that with confidence, if you do believe in a waking giant and support a wave of theocracy overpowering the United States, I recommend you study history.  Theocracy will always be a destructive force.  No matter what the religion, marrying it with governmental authority breeds bloodshed and human suffering unlike anything else humanity has ever devised.

Which Christian military organization was it that fought under the motto (translated to English) “God With Us?”

Cheers,
