A Phoenix recruiting station was displaying a recruitment poster which contained the image of a Special Forces patch under tabs for Special Forces, Ranger and Airborne tabs.  This image was displayed underneath the slogan “On A Mission For Both God And Country”.  Although it is not clear how long this clearly unconstitutional recruitment poster had been on display, MRFF was made aware of this situation by a number of clients and supporters on January 14, 2015.  After verifying the existence of this poster and its placement on a sandwich board outside of the Phoenix recruiting station via an independent professional photographer, MRFF immediately made the case for the sign’s removal via an opinion editorial authored by its Founder and President, Mikey Weinstein.  After a media firestorm ignited by this Op Ed from MRFF, the U.S. Army Recruiting Command had the poster removed within 22 hours of MRFF’s demand.

A spokesman with the U.S. Army Recruiting Command contends that while they provided the stock image used in the poster, the text was changed by the local recruiting personnel.  This spokesman further indicated that the display poster would not have been approved if the existing process had been followed.  MRFF has demanded that the individuals involved creating/displaying this poster be fully investigated and visibly punished as appropriate.
