During Space and Missile Systems Center (SMSC) Industry Days, industry members are invited to learn about what’s new and what’s next at the Space and Missile Systems Center, which is located at the Los Angeles Air Force Base. The 2012 Event was scheduled for Sept. 25 through Sept. 27 at exactly the same time that Jewish people observe what is considered the holiest day of their calendar, Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement. MRFF stepped in on behalf of 27 clients, 16 of which are Jewish, after their repeated attempts to bring the conflict to the attention of leadership fell on deaf ears and their requests for rescheduling were ignored. Based on MRFFs direct intervention, Doug Loverro, Executive Director of the SMSC, directly emailed MRFF to state that “we intend to change the dates for SMC Industry days to de-conflict it with Yom Kippur”.
