Douglas Turner

Douglas Turner is the Founder and President of DW Turner, Inc a New Mexico-based strategic communications and public issues management firm. The company has been ranked as the #1 firm in New Mexico and among the top 250 in the Untied States and represents corporate clients worldwide.

He has nearly 15 years of public relations, public affairs and political experience throughout the United States, Europe and Japan, and has provided political and strategic council to a wide variety of Fortune 500 clients. They include Lloyds of London, Altria Corporate Services (Kraft Foods & Philip Morris), Wal-Mart, Chevron, Pfizer, Eli Lilly and Westinghouse.

Additionally, Douglas was a Republican candidate in the 2010 New Mexico gubernatorial election. Douglas has been the general consultant and was the former State Director, Campaign Manager and general consultant for former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson’s 1994 and 1998 campaigns, and as the Southwest Regional Deputy Political Director for Steve Forbes’ 2000 bid for the United States Presidency.  He has most recently coordinated the Tokyo and Seoul international press coverage for New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson’s 2005 mission to North Korea.

He was the Communications Director for Forum Europe, a Brussels-based public issues firm. He is a former syndicated columnist, and served three terms as Chairman of the New Mexico Judicial Standards Commission.

Douglas received his B.A. from the American University School of International Studies and his M.A. in international relations from the Universite Libre de Bruxelles in Brussels, Belgium. He is a life member of the American Council of Young Political Leaders, a southwest board member of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and a member of the Republican Governors Association National Finance Committee.

He is currently an International Affairs Fellow in Japan with the Council on Foreign Relations.
