Dear Mikey,

I appreciate your web site and objectives (the site is very nice) but the opinions expressed are based as an opposition to the very constitution you are hoping to defend. This is because the United States Constitution is a Christian document. There are, of course, other arguments against my position but it doesn't change the fact. Since the constitution of this nation is actually a Christian document, it was designed to not limit the free expression of varying doctrine and dogma within the Christian faith while providing the freedom to non believers to accept or not accept the faith of God in Christ. The position in opposition to this - that freedom of religion means necessarily a constitutional freedom against religion is most evident in a case where a person in the military is sworn to uphold the constitution of his or her country with their very life. Upholding the United States constitution through military service is directly tied to upholding the collective will of the people of this democracy who are the majority a faith believing Christian people. Because this is a democratic republic by law of, for, and by the people, it is necessary to understand there is a safety issue (not only for the particular soldier and his or her surrounding platoon, but for the strategies of outcome of battle in religious warfare) to military requirements of faith understanding against an enemy nation who view the conflict as religious.
Thank you,

Mikey's Response

Thank you for taking the time to reach out---with all due respect, good sir, you could NOT be MORE wrong in stating that "the United States Constitution is a Christian document"!!---as the rest of your statement proceeds from that MASSIVELY erroneous position, there is no salinet need to comment further---incredibly, you even ADMIT and ACKNOWLEDGE that "there are, of course, other arguments against my position but it doesn't change THE FACT." (emphasis added)---uhhhh---ummmm---Whose "fact," sir,??---Yours??!!---Who are YOU, to be the Grand Determinator and Final Arbiter of United States Constitutional History and Resultant Determination???!!---are YOU a Constitutional lawyer!?---do YOU teach Constitutional history and/or law??!!---.and further, it makes not a lick of difference at ALL that Christians are the "majority" faith as you asserted, sir!!---to this end, our beautiful Constitution's provisions (ie. the Bill of Rights, in particular!!) are SPECIFICALLY designed to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority. As Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor said, "We don't count heads before enforcing the First Amendment."---America was designed to be and IS ABSOLUTELY a secular nation meaning that ALL religious faiths may prosper but NONE may be elevated above the others by being allowed to engage the machinery of our State's might and thereby cornering the market on its awesome power, prestige and financial heft to buttress its "superiority" over any other faiths. ---THIS IS BEDROCK CONSTITUTIONAL LAW, sir!!---and lastly, plz be very,VERY careful when you assert and imply that it is only the "enemy nation" which views the current conflict "as religious"---indeed, here at the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF), we have quite clearly seen that MANY of the most profound powers that be in OUR OWN United States armed forces, White House and numerous companion parachurch organizations ALSO ONLY see this so-called "War on Terror" as an extension of fundamantalist Christian exceptionalism and superiority and as means to advance the Great Commission to "make Christian disciples" of the rest of the world pursuant to the mandates of Mathew 28:19 and Mark 16:15---again, I thank you for at least caring enough to write to me.

Best,
Mikey Weinstein,
President and Founder, MRFF
