MRFF,
Our unit was informed by the commander at final formation that we will no longer be participating in the religiously based “Celebration of Liberty” event in Columbia, SC. The band was relieved that the right decision was ultimately reached and that we are no longer being asked to violate the law or military policy.
We appreciated the quick response and support from MRFF through this matter.
Respectfully, (Active Duty U.S. Army MRFF Client’s name, rank, unit and installation all withheld)

Good news! The Baptists will be disappointed but they’ll get one of the local high school bands to fill in I’m sure.
It amazes me how the right has conflated religion and liberty and think nothing of using US tax dollars to support their Baptist parades.
You don’t know true liberty until you’ve separated church and State!
You can worship as you please, if that’s what you do. But don’t expect everyone else to!
And don’t spend my tax dollars on your effing religion!
