After 32 years of participation as a congregational member, teacher and ultimately as an ordained Assistant Minister, Joan was witness and clergy counsel to numerous parishioners. Her involvement in the evangelical movement culminated in her realization that their teachings are antithetical to the New Testament and ultimately resulted in her resignation and departure from her position as an ordained minister from her church. She is now ordained in a different Christian church.
Joan is devoted to her family, despite the interruptions that marriage and children have brought to her career. It suffices to say that the emphasis of her life beyond her family had been as a devout member of an evangelical congregation. She has shifted her former devotion and passion as an evangelical supporter to exposing the flaws of this sect of Christianity. Her profound scriptural knowledge uniquely places her in a strong position to critique their practices and scripture-twisted teachings.
Joan has conducted extensive research on Christian Dominionism and its infestation of mainline churches in America. She collaborates with experts nationwide, with an intensive emphasis on Dominionist activities in the past 10 years. Her ongoing work exposes the fundamentally unchristian practices perpetrated by this sect.
In addition to her research, Joan contributes to many websites and forums, volunteering her knowledge of biblical resources and firsthand eye-witness accounts as a “walkaway” from one of the most prominent sects of Christian Dominionism in the United States, the Assemblies of God church.
