Mr. Weinstein,

Thank you. The misguided zeal with which hard line religious adherents attack anyone and anything that threatens their comfortable extreme norms never ceases to amaze me. I'm glad to have you, your organization, and your family working to at least try to bring our military back to religious neutrality. It's a usually thankless battle which few have the time and energy to fight. Again, I thank you, for taking up this mantle.

"you f*****g piece of shit jew” etc. etc.

Is reminiscent of what my family and my mother in particular had to put up with during her trek to the US Supreme Court in 1945 to 1948. So, I can sympathize with you wholeheartedly! One wonders how such poisonous dreck can be generated in the minds and from the mouths of some professed followers of the person who, according to their own Bible, was a consummate humanist!

Keep up the good work!

Subject: Proposed Revised Imprecatory Prayer

IMPRECATORY PRAYERS AGAINST ANTI-DOMINIONISTS BARRY LYNN AND MIKEY WEINSTEIN

Let us pray. Almighty God, today we pray imprecatory prayers from the Focus on the Family collection of hate spells and curses against the enemies of religious scamming, including Barry Lynn and Mikey Weinstein, who issued press releases this week blabbing the truth about my illegal and unconstitutional activities while on active duty. God, do not remain silent, for enlightened and truthful men surround me contradicting all my well concocted lies. It's very hard to get away with anything while these two are allowed to dog my every step. I condemn them but they keep on, tireless in their quest to restore honor and integrity in religion. And they know they ain't gonna find it in my venue. Therefore find some obscure Godly reason to zap them and their families so I can get back to my scamming. Kill them both right away, you know like the folks you knock off in Tsunamis and Earthquakes and replace them with reasonable people that can be bought off. Plunder their fields, and seize their assets. Cut off their descendants, and remember their sins, in Jesus’ name. And then send me the money.

Now, I'm not fooling around here God. I'm really pissed. It ain't bad enough that my arrogance got me booted from my cushy Chaplain's job in the Navy but now I gotta put up with the likes of these two tenacious bloodhounds sniffing around my business and putting a serious dent in my fund raising. How is a defrocked Chaplain supposed to get away with anything with these two guys sticking there noses into my well-camouflaged felonious ventures?

Oh and while you're at it, there's this cute little number down at the bar where I've been holding baptisms in the wine vats. Her name is Jezebel. Could you put in a good word with her for me? If not kill her too, the slut.

Yours Truly,

Gordy

I enjoyed listening to Mikey just now on XM Radio Air America 167 "Left Jab" Radio Show. You put into words what I have felt since 1965. I am (name rank and service branch withheld). Last duty station USS John F. Kennedy CVA67. Yes the military does impose Christian religion on its soldiers. I am a free thinker but I will defend your freedom of belief or non belief. Enough about me. I am on a borrowed lap top but was moved by your topic so I decided to write while it was fresh in my mind. When I get home I will research your organization and I would like to join the cause.

Thank You for the insight.

Howdy,
This morning, 3 May 09, I heard "Mikey" on Left Jab radio. What a breath of fresh air. Kudos to you. Thank you so much for taking this on. I am an artist/writer working to take back my country from these religious crazies. To me, freedom means FREEDOM, not the mental slavery that's brought our country to ruin. I've got some political graphics dealing directly with the issues that propel and inform you.
Let me know if I can be of any help... in my own way.
Sincerely,

Mr. Weinstein and the Military Religious Freedom Foundation,

My name is (name and rank withheld). I just wanted to let you know I stumbled upon your web site by accident while looking for Army regulations about religion and EO. I support your organisation and appreciate what you do.

I too have put up with religious activities in the military for almost (number withheld) years now. I am not an athiest, in fact I'm just not religious at all, no affiliation, no group, I'm just an American and a soldier. I have contacted my equal opportunity (EO) rep before and even talked to my unit first sergeant on one occasion and have always been told the same thing, too bad.

I am offended by being forced to attent a cermony where there is prayer, which makes people think that all soldiers in attendance support such prayer. Guilt by association I guess you could say. I don't wish to be associated with it. I don't want my family bombarded with it.

Right before we left (military installation name withheld), I was upset about just such an event, and a couple of female soldiers tried to cheer me up. They said if it's bad I should go to EO or the IG. They asked what was wrong. I told them that if I told them why I was upset I was cconcerned that they would treat me differently. They said oh, no they wouldn't. So I told them. Immediately the female soldiers announced that they were "true believers" and that my "problem" was not worth going to the EO rep, and one even said there were organisations trying to take god out of everything and suggested that I could go join one. Then she made the remark that the nation was founded on religion. They went from wanting to help me to treating me like some sort of freak, and that evening the unit commander came out and made the announcement that he was forming a unit bible study and wanted a show of hands who'd be interested. Wow, coincidence eh? Now everytime the one woman sees me she makes religious comments. Tonight she even wore a civilian hat with her pt uniform that read "trust in the lord jesus".

I am leaving (middle eastern staging base country's name withheld) for Iraq tomorrow to serve my country as I have for almost (number of years withheld) years, and when we get home next year, I will not be attending the de-mob ceremony becasue of the religious content. I will probably face charges for not being there. It will be the low point of my career. I may even lose my retirement.

On the way out of (military installation name withheld) they waited until we were coralled into a staging area where we could not get out of line, then the chaplain came up and did an invocation. I stood there with my arms crossed, because it's all I could do. When we left (military installation name withheld) for the port to get our aircraft, they did it again. This time I left formation and stood out of earshot until it was over. I will continue to attempt to do so throughout the deployment.

For almost (number withheld) years I've defended other people's rights and freedom to put me down for not believing in what they believe in, even in the military. That's why when I get home I will be retiring (hopefully). It's time I started defending myself, and my family's rights. Freedom should apply to all people, no matter who or what you are or what you believe in.

Thanks for listenning to me vent. Keep up the good work.

Hi Mikey,

I forwarded "I'm Just an American and a Soldier" to our Isabella County Democratic Party web discussion group with my appeal for them to read it and then to send a letter to Senator Levin urging him to investigate the violation of First Amendment religious rights in the U.S. Military.

(name withheld)

I received this from Mikey Weinstein who founded the Military Religious Freedom Foundation and is fighting to return freedom of religion and separation of church and state to military personnel which has been usurped by fundagelicals who are monopolizing the chaplaincy with their inclusivistic message. Lay fundagelical non-coms and officers are violating their subordinates freedom of religion by coercing them into participating in religious rites, services, bible study and prayers that they do not agree with. Please read this witness below and then send a letter to Senator Levin asking him to have our Senate Armed Services to investigate these violations of the First Amendment in our U.S. Military.

In Hirschmann's Hansi Ministries March newsletter, she sheds crocodile tears over the Academy's cancellation of her speaking engagement. She also suggests that her faithful 'pray' for Mikey as she thinks his sincere convictions may lead to death and destruction as it did for the Nazis (!)

http://hansiministries.org/March_2009_Newsletter.pdf

"Pray also for that lawyer. He needs to learn what I learned as a former Nazi. You can believe in your cause with all your heart and at the end find out that your sincere convictions can lead you toward death and destruction. (Proverbs 14:12)"

In her April newsletter, she states:

http://hansiministries.org/news.htm

I do not apologize for what I said in my November newsletter because the latest developments in our nation and the direction of the new administration are proving my point.

I do not compare President Obama to Hitler, but I must obey my Lord; as I see trends in America that led Germany into disaster, I must speak up!

There are not too many voices left by now who have experienced and seen that part of history. Most Americans are similar to the German people of the 1930s who never dreamed that their way of life could end so suddenly.

Is this unlimited new spending and reckless printing of paper money similar to the economic recovery of Nazi Germany? Yes, it is and it made the German people jubilant because Hitler turned the economy around within four years. Nobody saw that the next four years prepared for World War II, and within 12 years most of Germany was in ashes and Europe nearly destroyed.

This email is in response to the Colorado Springs Gazette article "Ousted speaker says academy caved to pressure"

Hi Mark,

Ms. Hirschmann's comments about Islam striving for world Islamic domination seems disturbingly similar to the Dominion Theology practiced by a growing number of militant evangelical Christians who proselytize almost unhindered to our young solders, airmen, sailors and marines at training bases, garrisons and other military venues including our National Guard, Reserve and service academies. The momentum of this proselytizing has even reached combat zones in the Mid East, in which the Central Command General Order 1 A, prohibiting proselytizing to troops and civilian populations is routinely violated by senior military officers and chaplains.

Having studied this phenomenon closely and identified many of the leaders of this movement, I believe there is, without question, a Christian agenda that parallels, if not exceeds, Islamic Jihad.

The roots of Dominion Christianity, or Christian Reconstructionism were firmly planted back in the seventies by such luminaries as Rousas John Rushdooney and carried on today by such as Pat Robertson.

Well organized and funded organizations such as the Officers Christian Fellowship, Campus Crusade for Christ Military Mission, Christian Embassy , Focus on the Family, a bloated Evangelical Chaplain corps and others now operate within the educational, training and even combat sectors of the armed forces free of even basic criticism or restraint and with virtual immunity from often glaring violations of the uniform code of military justice, regulation and constitutional provision.

It appears to me that Ms. Hirsch is caught up in this extreme form of Christianity and I suggest that this why she was selected to speak in the first place and only canceled when her true agenda was unmasked. I believe that Christian Dominionism is attractive to her as it parallels the dictatorial powers with which she was previously enthralled. In addition she and other Dominionists have spoken of President Obama as a socialist and compared him to Hitler. It is obvious that the two references do not mesh as Hitler's National Socialist Regime was on the far right of the political spectrum with Fascism while the socialism to which Obama is compared would be on the left.

Mark, there remains a powerful Dominion Theology presence at the AFA and hundreds of other military establishments which can no longer be pooh poohed. There is a destructive agenda that is easily discerned if one studies Dominion theology, its foundation and operating policies, the depth and breadth of which are readily available.

It is my opinion that Ms. Hirschmann and her ilk are anything but 'Grand motherly and kind." I would say that grand mother is likely imbued with the kind of commingling of religion and politics that spawned the Nazi movement.

I am certain that with your intimate knowledge of religious matters you could get to the bottom of this movement and expose its looming dangers in the military. This would be a great service to the moderate religious community and the expanding number of unaffiliated and non-believers in our community and America at large.

Young military members are currently being proselytized in what can only be described as a seditious manner that requires obedience to a "higher authority" than our constitution and who are or will, at some point, be in control of weapons of immense destructive power, their logistical support, transportation and deployment. The opportunity for Dominionist to direct and employ such indoctrinated personnel in their objectives is very real.

I am also curious as to whether there is any connection between you and the prestigious Barrna Group of California that conducts surveys and research programs dealing with religious attitudes, conduct and life goals.

I hope to hear from you.

Message to Richard Baker

Thought you might find this interesting.

I’m not sure what disturbs me more; the fact that such blatantly false (and indefensible) assertions continue to be held up as truth, or that people so glibly accept them as such. You know the efforts of the MRFF are actually convincing people that Chaplains can’t express their religious beliefs even in the confines of a religious service composed of willing congregants exercising their first amendment rights? (Of course you know. It was rhetorical.) Though Weinstein claims not to be out to get Christianity out of the military, you’re certainly not stopping people from suggesting that end on your behalf based on your own assertions.

I think I’m losing count, but I’m pretty sure this would be the third time I’d accuse Rodda of cherry-picking things, except she let al Jazeera do it for her this time. It was telling to know you approved of the results, though.

(name withheld)

Response from Richard Baker

It is certain that cherry picking will take place where there is an entire orchard of cherries from which to choose.

The recent spate of incontrovertible and graphic evidence that egregious transgressions by Dominionist Evangelical Protestant Christian chaplains and officers have consistently taken place in so many military venues has put violators on notice that the biblical shroud of silence and denial has been unearthed.

At long last, many of those who heretofore thought this whole proselytizing thing was a tempest in a teapot are coming around to the fact that what amounts to treason has and continues to diminish the effectiveness of our armed forces. And those who have known about it and kept their silence will no longer be able to shield the guilty from the glaring light of truth.

The cries for protection and relief so desperately sought by the legions of young military men and women from the ravages of coercive Christian proselytizing have reached a crescendo that can no longer be ignored nor covered up.

This has been an eye opener for those integrous officers and civilian agencies who gave this activity the benefit of the doubt but who are now beginning to realize the depth and breadth of what appears to be the scurrilous plan to initiate the Ninth Christian Crusade.

The covert plan to divert attention from irregular Christian activities in the US Military by focusing on the terrorist activities of Islam and its religious excesses worked for a time. Now, however, when the curtain of secrecy is being rolled back and the illegal and immoral acts of the previous administration and all it's Machiavellian activities laid out for all to see, so is the scab of protection peeled back to reveal a religious sedition so insidious that it is almost incomprehensible in its range and scope.

The now exposed Dominion Christian Cabal in the US Military is on a par with the most repressive acts of religion run amok throughout history. A result of blind adherence to and bastardization of Biblical principal has again created a core sect of extreme practitioners who have amassed such collective powers that they have usurped much of the vital command and control structure of our armed forces. This core group is strengthened by well organized and funded Christian military and civilian organizations which were afforded unlimited and unhindered access to every troop level from service academy cadets to front line combat soldiers, airmen, marines and sailors.

With virtual immunity this cabal infiltrated every sector of the active Armed Forces, National Guard and Reserves. It's organization is impeccable and chain of command second to none. And all this performed under the noses of complacent and acquiescent commanders.

Now this truly un-American endeavor has been sufficiently exposed to start the remedial ball rolling. It's demise is by no means assured but the momentum is on the side of those who have exercised the due diligence necessary to spark a second look at what was before a free pass to wreak havoc under the aegis of America's deep respect of and promise to guarantee religious freedom. Using that very aegis as a cloaking device Dominion Christians have nearly succeeded in rendering the US Constitution moot.

This could sound the death knell for Christian Dominionism in the armed forces but will more likely just drive the core sect underground to seethe and boil until the next unguarded moment in which they will emerge like so many June Bugs to re-infest their next target of choice.

Isn't it time for you to give up this charade of outraged purity and admit the destructive nature of Dominionism and its unswerving march to make Armageddon a self-fulfilling prophecy? Wouldn't your skills be far better applied to the cleansing of our military of those who would bring it down to the level of a band of Neo-Knights Templar?

Mikey,

If I could give you a medal of honor...I would do it. Don't ever give up...or I would go into a great depression.

Many salutes to you....my arm hurts....
