Message From MRFF President and Founder Mikey Weinstein

Mikey WeinsteinGreetings MRFF Supporters!

First, I want to draw your attention to the incredible honor that was bestowed upon MRFF at the end of last month, when we were invited to submit testimony for the first-ever Congressional hearing on the civil rights of Muslim Americans, initiated by Senator Dick Durbin. MRFF has a well-established track record of fighting for religious freedom in the U.S. military, including for many clients of the Muslim faith. Our testimony package detailed the atrocious treatment experienced by just a few of our clients; how many are out there suffering in silence? This, ladies and gentlemen, is precisely why your support is so vitally important - if we weren't there to submit this evidence of discrimination against Muslims in the military for this historic hearing in Congress, who would?

Next, please be sure to take a look at the invitation for our upcoming 6th Annual MRFF Award Luncheon. We'll be presenting our yearly Thomas Jefferson Awards for Civil Rights Activism, as well as our first-ever John Adams Awards for Pro Bono Legal Action. We are proud to have a prestigious group of honorees this year for both awards.

I would like to thank the U.S. Army War College for inviting me to speak at last week's Annual Strategy Conference on "American Society and its Profession of Arms." Each time one of the military's learning institutions welcomes MRFF's presence, it affords us a valuable opportunity to present our message to a very key demographic: the future leadership of the United States Armed Forces.

Finally, stay tuned for news on another story MRFF will shortly be breaking on a major national television news network. We'll have more on this latest case of truly shocking religious tyranny in the military very soon.

As always, we continue to rely on the generosity of supporters like you to continue our fight in the courts and in the media. Please make a fully tax-deductible donation today.

Mikey

"Thank You and MRFF For Your Help"

During the past 6-7 months a unit commander, who is now the Deputy Group Commander, decided to send mass e-mails to the wing regarding bible study sessions. [...] A lot of us expressed concern about the perception that leadership is endorsing what should clearly be a chaplain endorsed and led activity...

Being in fear of possible retribution for speaking out through the channels normally available, I decided to contact MRFF. [...] MRFF and Mr. Weinstein took aggressive action, the same day I e-mailed them to end this situation, action that made it up to the highest levels of leadership.

"So Many of Us Have Nowhere Else to Turn"

I would like to give my sincerest and most heartfelt thanks to everyone at MRFF, and especially to Mikey Weinstein, for their tireless dedication to our Constitution and the rights of our brave men and women in service...

Having stomached enough, I contacted the good folks at MRFF and they immediately jumped on the case. In less than three hours from sending out an e-mail invite to the religious event, an apology message came out from the station commander’s office. What a victory, and proof yet again that we CAN stand up for our Constitutional rights! I urge ANYONE of any faith or creed who has any questions or concerns to contact MRFF—they are here when it is difficult or embarrassing, dangerous and by all practical, reasonable means IMPOSSIBLE for us to stand up and fight the fight alone.

MRFF Needs Your Constant Vigilance to Uncover
Unconstitutional Religious Incursions in the Military

The constitutional violations occurring in our military are so numerous and widespread
that we can't possibly find all of them ourselves. MRFF counts on its supporters and volunteers --
the indispensable "eyes and ears" who alert us to everything from the most egregious of constitutional

So, keep the emails coming, and never think that anything is too insignificant or assume
that we might already know about it. You never know -- you might have stumbled into the
next bombshell of a story and not even realize it.
