Just wanted to let you know, again, how much I appreciate and admire what you are doing. I spent four years as an Air Force officer in the 90’s and felt persecuted and alienated throughout those years due to my non-belief in the bible as a true story. The Air Force really had become (and I assume still is) a religious cult in every sense of the word. It is no different, either in destructiveness or in underlying rationality, than the fundamentalist islamic regimes in the middle east that the conservatives vilify so fervently.
I really wish I had had an organization such as yours to turn to for help when I was in the military. Every time I see something on the news about Sarah Palin describing how our founding fathers intended for us to be a christian nation (uh, hello, first amendment, Jefferson’s letter to the Danbury congregation, Article 11 of the Treaty of Tripoli, Madison’s “wall of separation between church and state” letter, etc, etc), or events such as today’s Glenn Beck nonsense, I am reminded of how far we have sunk into this madness.
I made a contribution today, and will continue to contribute as long as you continue to keep doing the good work you are doing. Keep up the good work and keep representing us well, both in the courtroom and in the classy, respectful manner with which you present yourselves.
Sincerely,
(name and rank withheld)

Been in the AF since the late 80s, and still active. It got pretty bad there in 2004 and 2005 while the Academy was spitting out a steady stream of evangelical officers.
But there are enough of us fighting it from the inside, with the assistance of the MRFF and like organizations, that it appears we may finally be seeing changes. That, or the AD fundies are learning to keep their mouths shut and biding their time…
