Dear (name withheld)

Whoa big fella…..no sense busting a vein over this.

We’ve seen what your like when your fightin’ mad. Let’s see if you can help make some sense out of your whole spirited e-mail.

First off, we have donated far more than just flags to those who have been unjustly slain or injured over religious matters. We are currently addressing over 18,000 complaints from our young men and women in the armed forces relative to coercive and command influenced Christian proselytizing. 96% of these complaints are from Christian Soldiers, Airmen, Marines, Sailors, Coastguard, National Guard, Reserves and service academy cadets who feel oppressed by superiors who have used their rank and position to require their presence at Christian services. I’m sure you heard about the 80 or so soldiers punished for not attending a Christian concert as part of the commanding general’s “Spiritual Fitness Program?

Forceful religious activity is wrong, unconstitutional and illegal. The shooter at Fort Hood will get his and anyone who commits an atrocity in the name of religion will get theirs and we’ll be there to help make sure they do.

Now please understand this. MRFF decided to send a Quran to the Afghan Army for every one burned, not as a cave-in to Islam and the terrorists, but to save American lives. You have no doubt heard press reports that the Muslims in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen and Pakistan were already forming new terror groups and those Muslims who have been sitting on the fence have been knocked off the fence into the arms of Al Qaeda and the Taliban.

We wanted to demonstrate to the still sane Muslims that we were not all Christian extremists. And even though the burnings have been canceled the terrorists are still using this to rile up the people. If you don’t believe me, see what Gen. Petreaus said about this. You can bet that some riled-up, not to bright young Muslim will be convinced to do in some Americans.

Now you’re a Christian and you’ve fallen into the trap of sending hate messages to the “Sand Rats.” We are trying to send the message that America’s majority religion is one of peace, where one loves his enemy and turns his cheek if struck. That we are against terrorists and not Muslims. It’s tough to keep the commands of Jesus Christ when your so pissed you’d punch out a Saint.

It beats the stuffing out of me why we’re still in Afghanistan and Iraq. This was ill advised and not very well thought out. I’m just hoping we can get out without more loss of American life. Also. I’m not that smart and I figure maybe the guy who started the wars knew what he was doing. (He didn’t)

Both the Pentagon and MRFF are working to prevent more stuff like Ft. Hood. But you can’t know what’s gonna happen if you aren’t in the middle of things and don’t know what the troops are thinking and whose going maverick.

Although I understand your anger, it won’t get us any closer to keeping our troops safe.

You sound like you would be a good guy to have at our back in a fight so why not take a peek at our web site, which will tell you a lot more about us and our goals and the many unjust things we are fighting. GO HERE: militaryreligiousfreedom.org

Also, take five and have a beer. That’s what I’m going to do.
