Ft. Bragg

I have been following violations of the separation of church and state on the FFRF web site as I am a member of the foundation and I find the recent events at Fort Bragg to be unbelievable and quite frankly, disgusting.

As a 63 year old American Citizen I can’t imagine that the military got away with a public Evangelical event on a military base then to add insult to injury it was funded in part by tax dollars/government funds and now they are all but refusing the Rock Beyond Belief event by putting all sorts of restrictions on it.

As an American citizen I very strongly protest this blatant endorsement of a religion on a military base, the promotion of it and the denial of an opposing or more secular view having the same treatment with funding.

When I was in the army back in the late 60’s, religion was there if you wanted it BUT it was not forced on you and that is how it should be to honor our purely secular constitution.

The religious right Republican agenda seems to be to “manufacture” Christian Soldiers for an American Taliban to be used in a modern day crusade against Islam and unruly citizens that don’t want a religion, or to be more precise, a radical Evangelical or Baptist.

What next. Christian soldiers at abortion clinics and gay rights parades to intimidate people until they make abortions and being a homosexual a crime punishable by death like they tried to do in Uganda?
Another place where disgusting is the only word that fits is when I read about Mickey’s and his sons experience in the military for being Jewish.

The only other words that might fit would be sick, twisted, distorted, Taliban like or divisive, but disgusting kind of says it all.

I have contacted all the parties on the Rock Beyond Belief web site expressing my disgust and I have sent a snail mail letter to President Obama with copies to Sicinski and McHugh about this matter as well as my disgust with the religious right trying to make this country a theocracy in violation of our purely secular constitution.

Please add me to your list of supporters that demand equal treatment for the Rock Beyond Belief event and to end religious tyranny on all American military bases no matter what country they are in.

Thank you for your efforts
