Dear MRFF:

I support what you guys are trying to do—but I can no longer support you as an organization. It grabs headlines, but you purposefully insult our intelligence by playing the Nazi-card. To use your (il)logic, every single word ever uttered by Wernher von Braun, every action take by him on behalf of the USA, must be taken as the words and actions of a Nazi. According to your logic, our entire space program is Nazi inspired and should therefore be condemned. Why don’t you start a campaign to have his National Medal of Science taken away from him because he’s a “Nazi.”

Can you comprehend why I see your efforts as insulting to our intelligence? I find your motive (to make something out to be other than what it is to draw attention to yourself) to be base and repulsive. This is the second strike against MRFF. After seeing Mikey’s daughter (on a previous occasion) mercilessly insult someone in print as if they were subhuman, and now this flagrant attempt to mislead the public, you’ll never get another cent from me. You’ve proved unworthy of my financial support. I’m glad the Air Force (of which I’m a veteran) dropped their Christian-linked training course. That’s the real issue. The Nazi stuff is a giant red herring, and if you don’t know that, then I suspect you’re hopelessly blinded by your own self-importance, or your own hate, or both.

Isn’t it fair, sometimes, to blow off a little steam after receiving tons of E-mail from the usual suspects in which Mikey is called everything from Jesus killer and Kike to Yid, Jew Boy and beyond? How about a little payback for his wife’s increasingly dangerous affliction caused by ruthless threats of violence and death for her and her children from so-called Christians? How about living in a home that has been vandalized numerous times, Nazi Swastikas painted on the walls and dead animals and feces on the doorstep? Now, as least with sandbags and security, the Weinsteins can sleep for a few hours a night.

And isn’t it fair to play the Nazi card if is to trump a real Nazi endeavor? If you look like a Nazi, talk like Nazi and act like a Nazi, you are, my friend, a Nazi. That’s why it is important to identify the actions of those who so frequently commingle their bastardized Christian faith with government and military.

You are important to us. Do not allow this misperception to alienate you from one of the only organizations in the world who has stood fast against the rise of Fascist Dominion Christianity. Don’t forget the 23,000 plus young men and women in the armed forces who have found themselves in the grip of command centered and coercive Christian proselytizing and cried out to MRFF for help. Most of these young people are Christians who have been told they are not “Christian Enough!”

Stick with us and try to understand that we must appear able to defend ourselves and our clients. The time for goody two shoes is over and language and actions that can be readily understood by our adversaries must replace the the normal gentlemanly repartee.

We have not met but I am a former Air Force Officer and rescue pilot having served two consecutive tours of duty in Vietnam. I have also acquired a little shrapnel for the cause of freedom.

My name is Jim Taylor, a volunteer for the MRFF. Like you and most of the MRFF, I am also a veteran — in my case, the USMC. My service that included close personal ground combat in Vietnam. I also come from a family with a long history of US military service dating back to the Revolutionary War.

I read with interest your E to the MRFF re: von Braun, and Mr. Weinstein’s characterization of him as a Nazi, and I wanted to take this opportunity to reach out to you, because under your frustration, I see that you are one of the few who “gets” it.

While it is true that Mikey often ramps up the rhetoric (even to the point that I myself sometimes get exasperated), try to remember who we are fighting — and in this case, he was quite right about von Braun.

It is true that joining the Nazi party was basically a prerequisite for any government job at any level from dog-catcher on up. Some people did join only to get or keep jobs.

Joining the SS, on the other hand, was not. The SS were all highly dedicated Nazis, and composed of men dedicated to Hitler. Wernher Magnus Maximilian, Freiherr von Braun, was an Austrian nobleman. He signed up in the SS in 1933, before the Nazis had consolidated power, and at a time when the Nazi party was still illegal in his native Austria (before the Anschluss). That should tell anyone all they need to know about von Braun.

However, if more were needed, consider these facts:

5,200 V-2s were built, over 3,100 were launched, killing an estimated 7,250 people, most of them non-combatants. A direct hit on a building full of people could kill hundreds, but were less fatal than they could have been, due to difficulties with accurate targeting. Otherwise, they would have inflicted huge casualties.

V-2 slave labor survivor Alex Baum recalled hearing von Braun during the war: ”I understand German, too, because I was raised in Alsace-Lorraine. I could hear von Braun talking about the ultimate weapon that’s going to destroy the United States and everything else. He was very desperate to get this thing going, and he knew exactly what was going on.” (Emphasis added, from: http://www.v2rocket.com/start/others/news-archive.html )

The idea that he gave missile technology to the United States being because they were “guided by the Bible” is BS. If he had wanted to serve the United States or any other country, he could have left Nazi Germany any time between 1934 and 1939. Many countries would have welcomed such a brilliant scientist in such a militarily useful field. Instead he chose to join not only the Party, but the SS — the elite branch dedicated to Hitler, and dedicate his work to helping them win.

When faced with defeat and imminent capture, he and his fellow military scientists wanted to surrender to the Americans to save their lives and live under better conditions. The Soviet government would have enslaved them, although in material comfort, as they did with other German military scientists in Operation Osoaviakhim. (For the most part, we got the design experts, the Russians got the propulsion experts, which is why they have been able to boost huge payloads, even though their rockets are clunky-looking.)

Many survivors of the Dora-Mittelbau camp, (where the V-2 was constructed), testified that von Braun witnessed and encouraged the mistreatment of prisoners there, which was already so horrific that the life expectancy for prisoners (originally prisoners of war and “criminals”, but later also including resistance fighters and Jews) after arriving at the camp was less than a year.

“The Mittelwerk V-2 factory produced some 4,575 V-2s between August, 1944 and March, 1945—the period in which these rockets were headed for firing batterys (as opposed, earlier on, to development testing). It is also estimated that of the 60,000+ detainees employed in and around the Mittelbau complex over a 20-month period, 26,500 did not survive. (Estimates of the total number of prisoners in the complex at range between 40,000 and 64,000). Sellier (see below) attributes 15,500 of these deaths to the camps or to “transports”, and 11,000 to the period in April, 1945 when the camps were evacuated by the SS in the face of the American advance. This evacuation was especially barbaric. The SS shot prisoners, herded them into barns and burned them alive,…. ”

He surrendered to the Americans because he knew he would receive better treatment. He had also been informed that his Nazi activities would be overlooked in exchange for his services. He was recruited and enrolled in Operation Paperclip, the OSS / JIOA joint op to whitewash Nazi scientists and others wanted for the burgeoning Cold War. (We got the design experts, the Russians ended up with the propulsion specialists – which is why their rockets could always lift more payload, despite their clunky design.)

After having his activities and history “bleached” von Braun came over, and the rest is history.

I find it also sadly amusing that an officer of the SS should cite the Bible and be cited by Bible-thumpers. As you may be aware, the SS insignia was a pair of reversed and inverted “Sig” runes placed side by side.

Originally, the Sig was one of the “Armanen Futharkh”, one of 18 runes supposedly “revealed” to the weird Austrian occult mystic, pan-Germanic revivalist, and proto-Nazi Guido von List in 1902 while he was blinded after a cataract operation. (I won’t go into the abstruse supposed “meaning” of the runes, because like most metaphysics, it is gibberish and hogwash, as far as I am concerned, but if you are truly interested, there is plenty of info on this garbage out there.)

The Sig rune was also used by Karl Maria Wiligut (Himmler’s official occultist) in his own runic row (Wiligut runes) in the bizarre Nazi mysticism rituals.

In 1931, Walter Heck, a Sturmführer in the SS and would-be occultist, drew two reversed and inverted Sig runes side by side. He noticed the similarity to the SS initials, and sold the rights to his rendition to the SS, which were then adopted as their official insignia.

So much for von Braun’s purported “Christianity” – and yes, he was very much a Nazi officer. In fact, I would be willing to bet that he remained a Nazi in his heart to the day of his death.

Therefore, it is clear that Von Braun’s protestations about his unwillingness to join the Nazi party, join the SS, and use prisoner slave labor are lies (see “Hitler’s Willing Executioners”.)

So Mr. Weinstein was quite correct in describing this odious Nazi scum as exactly what he was, and no amount of white-washing can remove the bloodstains from his hands.

Was he useful in our weapons and space program? Indubitably. But the fact that the powers that be were willing to white-wash him and overlook his criminal acts doesn’t change the facts. If von Braun had been any other Nazi Party SS officer who did what he had, and were he not wanted by our OSS and military for their own ends, he would doubtless have been tried at Nuremburg and either executed (likely, given his record of multiple mass murders and detainee abuse), or imprisoned for many years.

You may still choose to leave the MRFF, but if so, I wanted you to be aware of the facts – and the facts are that von Braun was a very willing and highly dedicated Nazi, who murdered (directly or indirectly) thousands of people, many of them non-combatants.

As to Mr. Weinstein’s daughter, I am not sure which letter you are speaking of, but I would be willing to bet that she was replying in kind to one of the MRFF’s detractors. You’d have to be on the receiving end here for a while to understand just how thin the nerves get when one is daily bombarded with vile, obscene and violent threats from Dominionists, KKK, “Aryans,” “Christian Identity” and other would-be Nazis and their dim-witted fellow travelers. I don’t think even you, with your wishes of “peace and rationality” would find it very long before you went off — I know I found out soon enough.

The MRFF can ill afford to lose anyone in this battle between the looming theocracy and our Constitutional Republic.
