I heard that the Dean passed out hard copies of the letter to department heads only at a meeting yesterday afternoon. A few department heads may have scanned the letter and sent it out–or obtained an electronic version and sent it out–but there was no direction to do so from the Dean. I do not know if the letter’s been distributed electronically or otherwise in the other mission elements (military or athletic). She said that it would be appropriate to use the letter during future scenario-based training sessions, but so far the Academy leadership has not sent an electronic copy of the letter in the type of blanket, base-wide e-mail (called “Dist P”) that is used to announce prayer luncheons and chaplains programs or the need for volunteers at a wild cow-milking competition (see two examples below). Apparently, wild cow-milking is more important than CSAF guidance here.
