As I relayed earlier, I had inquired about the same symbol and it was adopted out of WW2 to honor the German snipers (not the SS). There is a major difference. As you know, even in war, there is a mutual respect between warring armies at times even in a break in battle at times the two sides come together in fellowship. But, as I came to understand that the picture does portray a message even if not done maliciously. All I am asking is that you inform your lawyers to go easy and understand that the young men did not mean that. I know this to be true. What I also know to be true is that everywhere in America, including the armed forces; that racism is still around. I am confident that you will find my statement to be true that these men unknowingly upset a lot of citizens of the planet and the Marine Corps should and most likely will handle the issue. I feel bad for the men because their leaders most likely will punish them for something that was not purposely intended. However, if there is an inside organization of neo Nazis in the Marine Corps…by all means flush them out and deal with them.

Hi (name withheld),
Rick Baker here. I’m a former Air Force Officer and Rescue pilot having served two combat tours in Vietnam. I’m a long time supporter of MRFF and I’m writing to thank you for your letter and call and to express to you what MRFF is really all about.
MRFF was founded by Mikey to counteract a growing militant sect of Christianity known as Dominion Christianity. By 2004 the United States Air Force academy, of which Mikey is an honor graduate, and a number of other military training facilities was engulfed in overbearing Evangelical Protestant proselytizing including several Christian cults operating with the knowledge of the chain of command. You can read about this travesty in Mikey’s book “With God On Our Side” which documents many of the unconstitutional events occurring there.
Mikey or MRFF have no desire to hurt any of our young men and women in the armed forces who may, from time to time commit blunders of this sort, but rather focus on those in responsibility who, with prior knowledge of what their acts intend, attempt to insert personal belief systems into the armed forces. MRFF is now addressing over 26,000 client case complaints from our young men and women who have found themselves in the clutches of over zealous Dominion Christian commanders and senior officers.
You can find out more about MRFF and its efforts to maintain a religion neutral armed forces at militaryreligiousfreedom.org.
Steve, thank you for your service to America.
Sincerely,
Rick Baker
