Hey Mr. Weinstein –

I wanted to congratulate you on being named one of the most 100 influential people in the defense field for 2012. Hopefully without sounding too boastful here, I’ve known that since I heard you speak at (USAF base installation name withheld) Air Force Base in 200X at the Air Force Judge Advocate Trial Advocacy Conference. I must say though, it has been nice to see over the past five years you and the MRFF make a real difference.

I’ll never forget my first days at the Air Force Officer Training School in 200X. I was a recent graduate of law school and had just passed the bar exam. I was very excited to be starting a new and completely different chapter of my life. That’s why my spirits were dampened when a chaplain said a prayer at a mandatory session “in Jesus’ name, amen.” While my spirits were down, I figured I’d just have to tolerate this kind of blatant abuse of the Establishment Clause during my time in the Air Force. That’s why hearing you speak was like a breath of fresh air. I finally had hope that as a religious (and racial) minority in the Air Force I wouldn’t be trampled on.

In addition to the hope you gave me then, it was four short years later that I got to see why you are one of the most influential people in the defense area first hand. Although we had never spoken, after seeing an “Airman’s Bible” with the official Department of the Air Force seal at the (USAF base installation name withheld) Air Force Base Exchange, I knew who I had to contact. Literally within minutes of hitting send on my e-mail you wrote back with your direct cell phone number asking me to call you ASAP. After speaking to you, just hours later a very senior Air Force general officer called me promising to look into it. And just a few months later, the Department of Defense issued a statement saying that they had revoked the license for the company to use all the service seals! It was amazing to see the whole Department of Defense move so quickly. That was a direct result of your and MRFF’s intervention.

Thank you for all you do Sir. Everyday I am thankful that the MRFF is here to stand in the way of those that would ignore the Constitution. You truly are a blessing.

With My Greatest Respect,

(USAF Officer’s name, rank, AFSC and assigned military installation withheld)
