How about tell Mikey that I try to pray for him every day. I pray that God will melt his heart and show him the mercy and salvation that only comes from accepting Christ Jesus as our personal savior. I pray that Mikey see the truth that God sent his only begotten son in the form of a man to earth for no other reason than be the unblemished sacrifice to absolve the sins of the world. Jesus lived a perfect, and sin free life. He was without sin yet he willingly died so that by his blood, something that was almost impossible (salvation for sinful man) could become as easy as believing in him, asking him to come into you heart and you can live forever in heaven. See the terrible truth to man is he is flesh, but he is also an immortal soul. His flesh will wither away and die, but his soul will live on forever. These souls must go somewhere. Hell? Purgatory? Why risk it when its so easy to go to heaven and live forever with a loving God who is pure love and kindness. It is written that all men have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Good works will not get anyone into heaven, only by salvation through the blood of Jesus can we be cleansed. It is by this mercy we can be whole and clean and pass to heaven. It is a free gift, he does’t ask for anything in return. Just do the best you can and show him respect and love and ask forgiveness when we fall short of what we should be. Ask Mikey for me not to harden his heart to the truth, He can be reborn in Jesus’s name. He can have the freedom and peace of mind knowing he will sit with God for eternity where all his questions of the universe will be answered. *Ask yourselves this, If I am wrong about this, then the only crime I have done is to try and live a better life and to show others the peace of mind I have knowing I’m saved, that I try to live by the 10 Commandments of God and be a good man, even if sometimes I fall short. *But if I’m right and he is wrong, then his soul will live FOREVER in eternal torment. Isn’t it worth thinking about seriously? Paul formally Saul persecuted Christians as well, but God showed him the path and he became a disciple of Christ. He brought the teachings and salvation to the Gentiles. If you want to be saved Just say a prayer like this, “God I know I’m a sinner, I have done wrong like all men, but I don’t want to be like that anymore, I want the love and peace that comes from salvation. Lord I know Jesus was the son of God and I pray that Jesus comes into my heart and makes me whole and free again. Forgive me my sins as I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Amen”
Peace be to you, signed,

Dear (name withheld),

How about I tell you that we at MRFF pray for Mikey every day.

As a minister your use of the word “accepting” is code for being born again. It is exactly those “accepting” Christians that are “non-accepting” of mainline Christianity, those of other religions and atheists in our military.

It is those “accepting” Christians that send hate mail and death threats against Mikey, his family and those involved with MRFF and end with “I will be praying for you.”

We pray that those “accepting” Christians would stop sending the “salvation message” everyday as if they were the first and only person to ever witness to Mikey.

You see, 75% of the Board, Advisory Board, volunteers and supporters that number over 1,000 are Christian. A full 96% of our 34,000+ soldier clients (1 may represent 50) are Christians.

We pray that those “accepting” Christians would research the MRFF website just a little bit and see that we aren’t anti-Christian in any way. Maybe they would stop believing the lies about us.

If one did research the website they would see that MRFF does not act on its own but at the request of soldiers’ complaints of the blatant disregard and trampling of the Constitution and the Military Code of Justice; blurring the lines between the separation of church and state. Every complaint is vetted by Mikey who was a JAG lawyer at the Air Force Academy for 10 years; worked in the West Wing under Ronald Reagan; and held positions in private practice. If you have a problem with what MRFF does I suggest you contact each of the soldiers and tell them how you feel about it.

We pray that those “accepting” Christians would stop the in-your-face religious proselytizing from the lowest to the highest of those in the chain of command toward those under then and put it back in the hands of the Chaplains.

We pray that our soldiers are no longer harassed, beaten, advancements withheld, and kicked out of the military on trumped up charges, all in the name of Jesus by those “accepting” Christians.

We pray that those “accepting” Christians stop trying to make our military into “government paid missionaries”, “warriors for Christ” and that every war is a “Crusade.”

We pray that those “accepting” Christians truly live up to the commandment from Jesus that we love our neighbor as ourselves and be “accepting” of those that are different from them.

So, as you can see, we also do a lot of praying around here and especially for Mikey.

Pastor Joan
