Mike Farrell – NCLS

I just left Mike Farrell’s presentation at NCLS and I could not be more excited. Another attendee characterized Mike’s talk as “perhaps the best he has ever heard at NCLS”.

Mike spoke with passion and conviction about the importance of human dignity and human rights. He shared some very personal thoughts about his own upbringing which made his presentation poignant and personal. He rightly challenged many of the questionable practices that our government has engaged in with greater frequency in recent years. His excoriation of things like drone strikes and capital punishment were well-informed and compelling.

I was especially glad that opened his talk with an affirmative statement about his involvement with, and support of MRFF. He provided an explanation of what MRFF stands for, and also what it does NOT represent, which I think was important to counteract the misinformation that many in the audience likely have heard.

I hope that every NCLS attendee attends one of Mike’s sessions. His message is one that every person here needs to reflect upon.
