I really can’t believe you are wasting your life hating people and trying to erase religious freedom. It is such a waste of one of Gods greatest gift..a meaningful life and you are a waste of space in America. It takes so much energy to hate and will make you look old and ugly. You should move to a Muslim country where they treat women like disposable dish rags since you seem to be so taken with their religion. I have never been in church where the preacher says you should go and kill all people who don’t believe like we do, which is what Muslims do. Why would you as a thinking woman support that? Why would a free woman ever want that evil to get a foot hold in America? Good always triumphs evil so I full faith your evil organization will never win! As a wife of a retired Air Force Officer, when you mess with a military man you better be aware their wife will have his back because if they get a hold of you will praying for the good Lord to help you!
Sincerely,
(name withheld)
Dear (name withheld),
I am writing in response to your May 18, 2015 email to the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (“MRFF”), in which you specifically address Bonnie Weinstein. You are clearly confused regarding the mission of MRFF, which is to protect and defend the religious freedom of all soldiers, sailors, Marines, cadets, and veterans. It is not uncommon for people to be misinformed about the work MRFF does because, unfortunately, certain media sources intentionally misrepresent its purpose. I have had the privilege of responding to many emails received by MRFF and I usually provide facts dispelling the myths and lies spread about this fine organization.
However, you did not write with questions or concerns regarding MRFF’s work. Instead, you chose to personally attack and defame a woman who has dedicated her life to helping service members throughout the country who are suffering from religious discrimination or persecution at the hands of their superiors. Despite her work for the men and women serving in our military, you state she “should move to a Muslim country where they treat women like disposable dish rags.” If hate makes you look old and ugly, I sincerely suggest you avoid mirrors because I doubt you will like what you see.
I am pleased to hear that you have never personally heard a preacher call for harm against those who disagree with those attending that church. Unfortunately, some preachers throughout the country have called for harm against MRFF’s founder, Mikey Weinstein, and his family. The Weinsteins have received death threats, have had their home vandalized and shot at, and require full time security – all as a result of acts by “Christians” such as you, who choose to attack rather than learn. Hatred and violence thrive just as easily among so-called Christian communities as they do anywhere else, as you have so clearly demonstrated.
You say you are married to a retired Air Force officer and I hope you will express to him my thanks for his service to our country. Mr. Weinstein himself is a 1977 Honor Graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. I am not sure why you believe that your support of your husband is superior to Mrs. Weinstein’s support of hers – particularly when Mrs. Weinstein works to protect the right of religious freedom for service members, while you appear to spend your time writing vile emails. Perhaps you are the one who should be “praying for the good Lord to help you,” so you can gain some guidance concerning the true message of Christianity.
Blessed be,
Tobanna Barker
