First off I am a soldier in the 8th TSC here at Fort Shafter in Hawaii. I have deployed into combat (number withheld) times. Me and my wife asked the MRFF to help us get that crusader sign down because it was so obviously wrong that its hard to believe we even have to explain why. We both Christians but our friends who are soldiers too are not. One is Jewish and one is Muslim and another is atheist. We all are among those who asked the MRFF to help us. More too but not close friends.
Everyone knew it was wrong to have that crusader sign up. Believe me. But knew we’d get jacked up bad if we used the chain of command to try to get it removed. To those of us who have deployed there was no need to explain the how-come of all of this stupidity with that Crusader sign. And if you can’t see why then you part of the problem.
Thanks to the MRFF and Mikey for saying it all to the commanders what we wouldn’t or could not say without getting messed up bad. And for getting the whole job done so fast.
Was surprised we were able to talk to Mikey himself directly. And appreciate the personal touch which the MRFF gave us all. This is all anyone is talking about in my (unit name withheld) right now. Good bad and ugly talk but no matter what that crusader sign is toast.
