Hi (name withheld),

The only morons in this exchange are those making accusations that betray their inability to comprehend the issue at hand. You qualify.

No one here opposes “Christians praying in America.” No one here dislikes America. No one here intends on leaving the country. Our work is to defend the country and its citizens from people who want to insist their own particular belief system on everyone else.

The America we support is the America the founders intended and the one the laws have strengthened, the one that says real Americans believe what they choose to believe and practice it appropriately.

Some of the more imbecilic among the citizenry, however, seem to think their religion is the only belief system that matters and that anyone who holds that the law, like the one that allows for freedom of religious or non-religious belief, should be obeyed as prescribed, can and should be condemned as “stupid liberal, anti Christian, anti American mother fuckers.” Again, you qualify.

So, let’s add up the score: Moron? You qualify. Imbecile? You qualify. Lunatic who rants on stupidly, grossly mislabeling people he neither knows nor understands? You qualify.

Dear (name withheld),
I am responding to your December 8, 2015 email to the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (“MRFF”).  You are clearly mistaken regarding the work and mission of MRFF.  We fight to protect the religious freedom of all soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, cadets, and veterans.  Contrary to your claim, we have no problem with Christians praying in America.  In fact, over 96% of our clients are Christians!   What we have a problem with is the public endorsement by a state actor of one religion over other religions (or no religion), which is a violation of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.

I am saddened to read that you believe protecting the constitutional rights of service members is “destroying our country.”  These brave men and women in uniform sacrifice so much, as do their families, to protect the rights of the rest of us.  Yet, you seem to think that their rights mean nothing unless they agree with you.  What is destroying our country are people like you who, in direct contradiction to the United States Constitution, would demand that anyone who disagrees with you leave the country.

Blessed be,

Tobanna Barker
MRFF Legal Affairs Coordinator
