October 27, 2014 – MRFF Exposes Army ROTC Program’s Blatantly Unconstitutional Restrictions Against All Non-Christians

An active duty U.S. Army officer and MRFF client informed MRFFthat a list of available “broadening assignments” (i.e. assignments available to captains who have completed their required course and stint as a company commander) contained a listing for the position of Assistant Professor of Military Science for the ROTCprogram at Wheaton College which required that applicants “Must Be Of Christian Faith”.  Based upon the red flag raised by the clearly unconstitutional nature of this restriction, MRFFSenior Research Director Chris Rodda conducted extensive research of the history of the Wheaton College ROTC program.  Chris Rodda’s research was presented in an article posted on the Huffington Post on October 27, 2014.  The research showed an unbroken history of the Wheaton College ROTC program being a “Christian run program” from the time it began in 1952.  Theunconstitutional sectarian religious nature of the Wheaton College ROTC program has been regularly declared in the Rolling Thunder ROTC battalion’s motto “For Christ and His Kingdom”…a motto employed in all messages from the school’s Professors of Military Science.
