Someone is pouting!

MLFF,  You people really need to find a worthwhile issue to direct all that anger towards.  I am nonreligious, but fine Christians to be much more honest and trustworthy than all other people!  Let them pray and stop this compulsive pouting!!!!  I would never support your stupid cause!

Hi (name withheld),

You miss the point, which is no surprise since you are apparently unable to recognize the problem at hand. The issue at hand has nothing to do with Christians being good people, it has to do with the inappropriateness of a military organization appearing to promote one religious belief system over others.

In the case at hand, that inappropriateness is not only demonstrated by the act of a military unit publicly praying, which violates the separation of church and state, but also intrudes on the rights of those members of that unit who do not share that particular faith but are required to take part for fear of negative consequences that may befall them as a result of non-participation.

What you think of as anger on our part is a combination of frustration and disgust at the continuing attempt by a certain Christian sect to impose itself on our military in violation of the law and the regulations of that same military.

Perhaps if you were more discerning you’d recognize the fact that the Christians you find “to be much more honest and trustworthy than all other people” are actually deeply divided in the way they perceive and practice their Christianity. The sect in question here holds itself out as the one true faith and condemns all others, including other Christians, who don’t accept its view.

I wish you discernment.
