Response from MRFF Senior Research Director Chris Rodda:

I’m assuming that you have sent a similar email to The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, which, along with the Sikh Coalition and the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery, represented the Sikh soldier in the case that led to these new Army regulations allowing soldiers to wear turbans, beards, and hijabs.

While MRFF is often at odds with the Becket Fund, which, among other things is a partner organization of the Christian supremacist, virulently anti-LGBT Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty (CARL), in this case we are in full agreement with them in applauding the Army’s new regulations on religious accommodations.

I’m sure that you have excoriated the Becket Fund for its role in ensuring “that turban or orther muslim bullshit is spreading religion but those bastards can now where it in our UNITED STATES of AMERICA MILITARY UNIFORM,” right? If not, I would suggest that you fire off an email to them right away expressing your disgust with them for their role in advocating such an outrage. I’m sure they’d appreciate hearing from you as much as we did.
