Subject: JEWS & CHRISTIANS – OUR ANCIENT FAMILY

Dear (name withheld),
As one who was born, raised and educated as an American Christian (and certified to teach and taught adult biblical history for over a decade), I know and appreciate that Christianity is just a branch off of the ancient tree of Judaism. Jesus and his disciples were Jewish, biblical authors were Jewish, and there would be no Christianity without the Jewish faith, culture and people. According to the New Testament Gospel of John at 4:22, Jesus declared “salvation is from the Jews”. Christianity teaches God created all human beings equal and it was very good (Genesis 1:27&31), the 2nd greatest commandant is to love one’s neighbor (Mark 12:31, Luke 10:27), and there is no difference between Jew and Gentile for we all are one (Romans 10:12, 1 Corinthians 12:13, Galatians 3:28). Ignorant and intolerant anti-Semitic Christian bigots make a mockery of all biblical instruction, moral teaching and common decency. It is a sad commentary on our Christian religion when hate-filled hypocrites, who claim to be “Christians”, hurl non-Christian hatred at fellow human beings who are Jewish. It is one reason so many rational people reject the insidious intolerance of fundamentalist Christianity. Willful ignorance is difficult to overcome when contaminated with self-righteous arrogance. Such diabolical diatribes reflect only on the pathetic perpetrators. Parochial prejudice is caused by a lack of self-esteem and represents the pernicious product of fanatical fundamentalist religious racist indoctrination. Moreover, it confirms the self-evident truth bigoted believers use religion to spread hatred whereas benevolent believers use religion to spread goodness. Many confused Christians piously proclaim the USA was founded on “Judeo-Christian” values and then completely contradict themselves by concluding we are therefore a “Christian” nation, inexplicably excluding “Judeo” which means Jewish. If we were founded on Jewish-Christian values, then it literally, logically and learnedly follows we would be a Jewish-Christian nation. The deliberate dropping of Jewish is disingenuous, devious and just plain dishonest.Christianity was not the original religion of the Americans. Native American beliefs were. Christianity is a foreign import from the ancient Middle East by way of Rome. And, the United States was not founded or settled by Middle Easterners or Romans.
It is significant that the largest survey of American religious identity ever conducted in all 50 states was completed in 2016 by the Public Religion Research Institute and showed the most educated Americans in our nation’s religious landscape are Unitarian-Universalists, Jews and Hindus. Also, American Muslims are more educated than white fundamentalist Christian Protestants who are the least educated. The latter are steadily shrinking and now comprise only 17% of the US population whereas almost 25% of Americans are “nones” (no religion).
In truth and reality, we are all human brothers and sisters sharing our earthly human habitat. Unfortunately, a few foolish fanatics have not realized that fact and learned to act accordingly.
Consider this worldly wisdom:
Renaissance Philosopher MACHIAVELLI wisely wrote in “Exhortation to Penitence” that those who cannot avoid being hostile to their neighbors are ungrateful to God.
Enlightenment Philosopher ROUSSEAU pointedly penned – “God makes all things good; man meddles with them and they become evil.”
Christian Philosopher PASCAL correctly concluded – “Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction.”
American poet laureate WALT WHITMAN’s legendary line was addressed to a lowly outcast – “Not till the sun excludes you do I exclude you.”
American writer, poet & 3 time Pulitzer Prize Winner CARL SANDBURG profoundly proclaimed –
“There is only one man in the world and his name is All Men.
There is only one women in the world and her name is All Women.
There is only one child in the world and the child’s name is All Children.”

Are you an adult? Where did you learn to spell? Did you learn grammar in the same place? I found myself, in reading this tract, wondering if you were home-schooled, possibly by someone who was filled with fear and chose to hide in the arms of a Bible-totin’ fundamentalist who pretended to be a Christian while knowing nothing about Christianity. There are a lot of them, you know. There are a lot of so-called Christians who are actually hucksters and thieves. They prey on frightened people like you who are content to stay huddled in ignorance rather than dare to venture out of their caves and expose themselves to the world.
It’s too bad, too, because the real world is a pretty nice place.
But instead, frightened people like you accept themselves as ignorant fools and become lost in a sad, dark world filled with bigots and cowards who train them. It’s a lonely, miserable place filled with fear and anger and spite and lies. Despite their claim to know the “truth,” these ‘teachers’ defile what you refer to as the Gospel of the Son of God with putrid garbage like you’ve tried to copy down in your message here. It’s truly pathetic that anyone could so debase the name of Jesus by associating it with the filth you’ve managed to spout here. I suspect you don’t realize you’ve made yourself the dummy to their ventriloquist. And, sadly, you’re more Mortimer Snerd than Charlie McCarthy.
If you ever treat yourself to a free thought – that’s a thought unshackled from the bilge you’ve apparently been fed for years – I encourage you to find something clean and ponder it for a minute. It might be a rock; it might be a flower; it might be a cloud. It might, if you actually are a “mom,” as you suggest, it might be a beautiful, innocent child. If you can do that, take a deep breath and drink in the pure innocence before you.
That rock or flower or cloud or child isn’t filled with fear and hatred and jealousy. It has no need to lash out at Jews or Arabs or atheists or any other being. The rock and flower and cloud can’t be poisoned by the hatred you’ve been taught to spew. But the child can.
I hope you’ll give it a chance you’ve clearly never given yourself.
Best,
Mike Farrell

“Enlightenment Philosopher ROUSSEAU pointedly penned – “God makes all things good; man meddles with them and they become evil.”
Well, that is what happens when God created the human race and gave it free will. He needs to take responsibility for it.
