Mr. Weinstein!Thank you for founding the Military Religious Freedom Foundation. What a wonderful resource and action organization. I wish it had been around when I was in the Air Force two decades ago. When I was on active duty, I insisted on dog tags that had NO PREFERENCE instead of a specific religion printed on them. I was told over and over that I had to pick a specific religion. I eventually won that battle only after explaining that if I were dying, just send closest chaplain or anyone for that matter and I didn’t care which religion. I hope there are more options for dog tags today which include NON-RELIGIOUS.When I was stationed at Tinker AFB, my commander held daily mandatory prayer meetings. It was no secret that choosing not to attend also meant that your performance report would prevent any future promotions. I chose not to attend. I filed an IG complaint which went nowhere. I wish the Military Religious Freedom Foundation had existed to fight the good fight.Prejudice based on “religious freedom” is unfortunately gaining ground. Thank you for your passion, smart war planning, and blitzkrieg action on behalf of so many. Never give up. Never surrender.(name withheld)
