Senior academy officers, it is a little surprising (given the exposure of the school’s long history of intolerance) but still very disappointing that the school has invited Rodney Bullard to speak at your annual National Character & Leadership Symposium.
Mr. Bullard is the executive director of the Chick-fil-A WinShape Foundation – an organization that continues to covertly fund several anti-LGBTQ organizations and schools.
The USAFA has had a very bad history of overt and covert discrimination against religious and other minorities. This past is a bad stain on this important military school.
Inviting Rodney Bullard to speak at this “character and leadership” symposium darkens the stain. In spite of all the accolades this Chick-fil-A executive and USAFA alum has received, there remain a character ofhatredreflecting the views of the Chic-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy.
The USAFA must distance itself from organizations like Chick-fil-A and its hate-filled foundation – not embrace them.
UNINVITE Rodney Bullard.
