I am an US Army veteran that lodged a complaint on 07/16/2019 regarding the Dallas VA Medical System Veteran’s Canteen Service overt favoritism (whether by policy or to blame upon a sole vendor) of Christianity and in particular Christian Nationalism, for the responsibility should be shouldered by those that operate the organization from the highest levels of supervision. Michael “Mikey” Weinstein got back to me within a matter of a few hours and got right on it. I ask all US Military Veterans as well as Active Duty, Guard and Reservists in the US Armed Forces regardless of religious belief or lack thereof to support the Military Religious Freedom Foundation and do not be fearful of lodging a complaint against your military superiors or peers for pressuring you with religious dogma and marginalizing you or excluding you for your religious beliefs or lack thereof.

Personally, I was a Fundamentalist Christian for over a decade and even served in the ministry for 5 years. Although I departed from the Christian faith I do not hold any animosity against religious people and in addition I don’t show favoritism toward a non-believer simply for being non-believers either as it is the character and behavior not the private beliefs of others that I go by regarding people. We should be fair and respectful to all people even if we disagree with their belief system whether it be political or religious. We live in a deeply polarized nation where politics and/or religion can be weaponized by extremists driving a wedge between what we all hold in common. We should pride ourselves on our differences but also we should not forget those precious ideas and principles and shared humanity that should unite us as a people and drive us to look out for each other’s rights.

The MRFF is ready willing and able to fight for the Constitutional religious freedom civil rights of all active duty, reserve, guard and veterans at any hour of the day and night. MRFF did it for me and they can do it for you!
