Ellery Schempp was the primary student in the landmark 1963 United States Supreme Court case of Abington School District v. Schempp, the case in which it was ruled that Bible readings in public schools are unconstitutional.

“MRFF is extremely honored to have received such a touching email from this heroic man, Ellery Schempp, who himself had the courage to face fury while standing under a national spotlight to fight for the constitutionally guaranteed separation of church and state.” —Michael L. “Mikey” Weinstein, Military Religious Freedom Foundation Founder & President
