To Whom It May Concern:

I will keep this short and to the point. There is much more I could express but you’ll get the concept. Please keep all of my personal information confidential.

I have never spoken about this publicly but the time has finally come to compose this email.

I am a former U.S. Marine who is Muslim. I am female. I went through hell at basic training being harassed about my faith everyday by a superior ranking NCO. He wanted me to renounce my “fraudulent” faith in front of our entire unit and accept Christ as my Lord and Savior. He would scream at me that “the only good Muslim is a dead Muslim”

I was lost and did not know what to do?

I began to cut myself on my arms. I had suicidal ideation. I had some serious suicide attempts. I wanted my corpse to lay on that senior NCO’s desk with a sign I made that said “Now Gunny am I finally a good Muslim?”

This went on for many weeks. I only told my parents and they and some fellow Marines contacted MRFF, specifically Mikey Weinstein.

Mikey and our base MRFF Reps shepherded me night and day for months and helped me get a medical discharge from the USMC that was still under full Honorable Conditions.

Mikey and the MRFF team also helped me get my VA benefits to help me pay for and get accepted into a Top 20 law school where I graduated a few years ago.

I am now thriving, married and have kids.

Not a day passes without me being forever grateful to Mikey Weinstein and the MRFF Reps who came to my side and helped me fight back. They saved my life pure and simple.

To the Republicans in Congress please know that I would not be alive today were it not for the MRFF.

Your attempt to eliminate the MRFF from helping U.S. military personnel in desperate need of their amazing civil rights activism is beneath contempt and is simply naked hatred of the MRFF’s established record of success in battling unconstitutional religious extremism in the ranks of our armed forces.

From a former Marine and always a grateful MRFF Client.

Since the MRFF has been targeted specifically by name, then a name change could be in order. Could that be an interim solution?

Good for you Marine. I’m sorry to hear you had to go through that!

Your discharge is the Marine Corps’ loss!

Another victory for Mikey and the MRFF!

    Oorah!

I’d like to see Mikey and the MRFF grow into a larger org that fights Christo-fascists in all walks of life!

  4. Vghj July 8, 2023 at 11:26 am

Fake news, never happened. Reads exactly like something Mickey Mouse or one of his mouse club retards would write.

I debated answering Vghj‘s vile comment yet here I am, again.

On one hand Vghj is entitled to their opinion. On the other hand, how dare they deny the expressed experiences of another without any factual information to back their claim.

Personally I believe a person until that human gives me reason to doubt them. It’s that whole innocent until proven guilty ethos instilled in me as a young one growing up in the USA.

Could Vghj have revealed more of themselves than they intended?

Vghj wouldn’t recognize real news or facts if they bit him on the _ss. It’s real, unfortunately. Hopefully there will be enough opposition to this unconstitutional part of the legislation to get it removed from the bill.

There wont be, Jeff. You see MRFF fucked up by allowing its little minions to make anti-christian comments in the comment section and constantly bashing the “Christian Nationalist” boogeyman in all of their “articles”. So now when congress members and the vast majority of normal people come check out MRFF website to see whether or not there is any reason NOT to pass the amendment… they will all see how biased MRFF is and how anti Christian it is and just how petty and shitty it is in general … Then the amendment will pass and MRFF will shut down … because there wont be much objection to shutting down a bunch of neo liberal progressive assholes sniffing their own farts all day, all led by a christian hating man baby.

Mrffbyebye demands the right of free speech and then whines when another exercises the very same right. How very ‘Equality feels like oppression to the privileged’!

Here’s my take – if Nationalist Christians had followed the rules there wouldn’t be this fuss. But then they wouldn’t be Nat-C’s, would they?

The bill passed the House. It still faces the Senate and President Biden. All is not lost, not yet.

  9. Jeff July 16, 2023 at 7:58 am

Mrffbyebye: you know very well that comments here aren’t endorsed by MRFF or reflective of the views of the organization. Moreover, the comments on this website have nothing to do with the reason the amendment was added to the bill. It was added to the bill because MRFF has been consistently effective in defending the religious freedom rights of all in our military, and the lawmaker who introduced it and his allies in Congress do not want religious freedom in our military.

  10. BlackGuy July 16, 2023 at 12:55 pm

Not whining, youre very entitled to your dumb opinion and free speech. Im just pointing out that it is a bad look for the MRFF when its dipshit supporters spew anti-christian hatred on their platform. You are actually hurting the organization that you claim to support… but please, carry on.

Also, MRFF might as well endorse all the comments here. Mickey Mouse and all the other dipshit board members are just as anti-christian in their ranting. Any board member of MRFF who calls themselves a Christian should go ahead and denounce their religion.

The troll above who changes their name to avoid responsibility lies when they say MRFF endorses anti Christian rhetoric.

Each commentator has the right to their own opinion. Many humans have been harmed by the Christian religion which they express here, which is, again, their right.

The MRFF has been and continues to be a critical link in preventing Nationalist Christians from taking over the US Military. This is a fact our resident troll can not face, hence their lies.

I’m not antiChristian when I hold Nationalist Christians (Christians who believe their specific flavor of Christianity must be in charge and who also denounce all other Christians as false for not agreeing with them) to the laws which govern us all. I’m pro-Constitution, meaning we all share this country and no one religion gets to be in charge. We are a secular nation and if our democratic experiment is to continue we must remain secular.

Apparently according to a troll my insistence on sharing is hate. Thought sharing was a big issue in the Christian holy book, isn’t there some big lecture on a mount that gets mentioned?

Troll, you must be freaked because you are sounding hysterical. Perhaps a nap would help.

  12. Jeff July 18, 2023 at 2:44 pm

The troll doesn’t seem to understand that the religious freedom MRFF struggles to protect is religious freedom for Christians, as well as non-Christians. And ensuring the enforcement of religious freedom for all in the military and elsewhere will become VERY important to Christians in the USA within a few decades, when the majority of military leaders – and the majority of US citizens- are non-Christians. The troll will then come begging to civil rights organizations like MRFF for help enforcing the regulations And constitutional rights the troll seems to be against now.

Only 64% of Americans call themselves Christian today, down from 90% 50 years ago.

30% of Americans today are non religiously affiliated and that number is rising rapidly.

Church membership is below 50% for the first time.

White Evangelicals will be eclipsed by the “nones” in this country.

Churches are being closed and turned into apartments and bars, dance halls, and social clubs.

The “Browning of America” could offer the churches in America a way to secure their Christianity into the future as immigrants from South American countries bring their Christianity with them, but they won’t do it. Christian Nationalists are white! They’d rather close the franchise than take the “white” out of their own identity!

It will take a while but Christianity is on its way to minority status, their roles relegated to a back seat behind the powerful “none” voting block.

    Slow but steady progress!

Your stats are wildly inaccurate, but keep dreaming.
