Wait, what? The only ‘as usual’ about Christian nationalists is their rabid adherence to laws for thee (meaning us) and not for me (meaning themselves).
Back on topic:
I remember sitting in the back of my uncles car heading to church on Sunday. My aunt was in the back with us and she was telling me about some cousin who was enlisting to be a warrior for god, that the military was a vast wasteland of unsaved souls. My uncle, a born again preacher, was very enthusiastic about this grand opportunity as he put it. This was late seventies. You can imagine how intertwined this issue is by now.
Truly the only new thing about Christian nationalists is they are no longer hiding. They are out, loud, and proud**. At least the rest of us can see them coming and duck.
**Sorry LGBTQA+ community for borrowing the coming out phrase. Its’ use here is oddly humorous in a dark way. That said the two groups are in no way comparable. One side wishes to live authentic lives as themselves (you live your life, I’ll live mine) The other wishes to live their life according ti their personally held religious beliefs which includes forcing their beliefs on everyone else (I live my life, you live my life).
Also, one side believes in the rules of consent; the other does not. I’ll let you figure out which is which.
O/T – Rules of consent – yes means yes. Silence (unresponsive) means no. No means no. If you can’t legally sign a contract, no. If you are underage, no. If at any time a yes turns to no then you stop. You don’t know what triggers may have been tripped. I’m sure there is more but these are the basics.

What does makes me laugh the hardest is so many MAGA and Christian nationalists (but I repeat myself) truly believe they and only they have read their holy book or have the standing to interpret it in the proper context. I’ve read it many times searching for relevance to my life and I know I’m not alone in finding it’s words when taken as a whole to be lacking.
I’m glad the issue of Christian nationalists in our military and government has finally risen to the top of things to address. May wise minds find the necessary solutions to stop those who are aiming for Armageddon from killing us all.

The new speaker is everything the founding fathers fought against – an ignorant science denying new earth creationist theocrat who insists his religion be used in place of the Constitution.
And he’s in line to step up to the presidency if something happens. He’s also in a position of power to throw the election if he doesn’t like the outcome.
All that electoral fraud we’ve heard about? Well with MAGA accusations are always projection with this crowd. Always.
