MRFF is delighted to report that Christian nationalist GOP Rep. Mike Turner’s NDAA amendment to shut us down has backfired BIGLY!!!

A fuller explanation of the myriad ways in which the Senate’s amendment to Turner’s amendment, which was agreed to by both the House and the Senate, and has now been signed into law by President Biden, benefits MRFF will be coming soon, but to put the most salient aspect in a nutshell for now, Turner’s attempt to shut MRFF down has tremendously backfired and been turned into a boon for MRFF, with the edict to the military being changed from:
‘You can’t respond to MRFF’
to
‘You HAVE TO respond to MRFF!’
We want to thank all of our supporters who have been right here with us through the long and uncertain past six months!
We can now not only breathe a sigh of relief, but celebrate!!!

Was: cannot contact MRFF. Is: codifies mandatory elevation steps whenever MRFF calls. I’m sure Mikey will create a handy guide for those he calls, outlining their legal obligations triggered by picking up the phone or opening an email from Mikey.
Get real, yall are done. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you too Gsst.
Not my holiday personally speaking but you appear to celebrate.
MRFF is done? Oh, silly troll. Your heroes tried and failed in a most spectacular way. It’s the law now.
Oh my. What a wonderful gift indeed. In trying to eliminate the MRFF from the chain they define the MRFF as the chain. Brilliant, just brilliant. When the kids make movies of this time in the future they will all be comedies. Looking forward to what the kids create.
MERRY CHRISTMAS you Godless animjals. From a 20 year USN Vietnam era vet and his wife, a 21 yr USN-R Vietnam eroa vet.
Damn Jerry,
You join the Navy before you graduated?
Animjals, as I recall, is unique to Vietnam “eroa” vets. So there’s two animjals in your eroa family? Aren’t you special!
Happy Holidays to you and your fellow animjals!
jerry keenan, why do you have to do that?
Call us godless animals?
You don’t know any of us and with that attitude anyone in your life who sympathizes with the MRFF will keep that thought to themselves.
Think about this jerry keenan. Like water, emotions when suppressed tend to explode at usually the worst possible moment. Truth will out just like death and taxes.
Well, we are animals, specifically, a primate, one of the five Great Apes, evolved from the Hominid Australopithecus Afarensis, in my case, also Godless (although I think the Roman God Mars is pretty cool – you know, the God of War!).
So, Gerry Keen-man, you’re technically correct. You and your ancestraI relatives, Gorillas, Chimpanzees, Bonobos, and Orangutans, ARE all “animals!” You do know you have the same number of ribs your wife does, right? 12 sets? Yeah, that whole Adam and Eve thing….. other than when a contestant was asked, “what were Eve’s first words to Adam?” After pondering a bit and giving up she replied, “that’s a hard one.” She won! She got it right!
So, you guessed right didn’t you? But your point is? You are a subset in the Venn diagram you describe so good on ya, you have the taxonomy of your own classification correct. I would argue you’re also near enough just as Godless. You don’t believe in the three thousand or so other Gods. I just go one God further. For all intents and purposes, we’re both just as Godless as each other!
Not sure why you mention Vietnam other than to let us know you’re not one of the 58,000 “suckers,” as Trump calls them, that lost their lives in another Christian debacle?
Happy Holidays Bro! Hope Santa brings you a spell checker!
Try reading – get some fat on your head!
Unlike Jerry Keenan, this godless animal doesn’t insult people because their religious beliefs differ from mine. I believe in the respect for religious diversity embedded in our constitution and in the military regulations. Such respect, and laws requiring the government to abide by it, is necessary for religious freedom. If Jerry doesn’t like religious freedom, he can try living in Iran or Saudi Arabia.
I’ve lived in Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. Been to Qatar and Bahrain. Very stark contrasts in flavors of Islam.
Absolutely love the Iranian people. Yeah, their Government is fucked up (self-inflicted wound), but the Iranian people are wonderful people and gave us, arguably, pre-dating Judaism, under Zoroaster, a mono-theistic road map. Not sure whether to blame them or celebrate them! Poly-theism might have made us a bit more tolerant!
Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, is a shit hole! The world’s biggest family-owned business! That financed 911! The perpetrators of the destruction of the World Trade Center that Georgie Boy was so in love with. Although, women can now drive in Saudi – whoop-the-fucking-do! But they can’t eat in a restaurant with men unless it’s with a family member in a segregated part of the restaurant. With their gangs of Mutaween, enforcers of public morality, roaming the streets with incarceration powers, fucking with people, particularly women. A woman can’t travel between provinces in Saudi without her husband, a male member of her family, or a Government-issued permission slip (and a male guardian), complete with check points on the highways (not many – check Google Maps) for enforcement. Islam at its finest! The punishment for apostasy in Saudi? Chop Chop square – every major city has one. You know, public beheadings. Try wearing a visible cross around your neck in Saudi and watch what happens! Worse yet, get caught with a Bible! One of the most insecure forms of Islamic control on the planet!
Go to a mall in Kuwait, on the other hand, and you’ll see all forms of western dress. I have a picture of three generations of women standing outside a mall shop in Kuwait City. Grandma is covered from head to toe, nothing visible. Mom is wearing conservative western dress like you’d see here in the US. Daughter looks like she painted her clothes on, not much left to the imagination. A completely different take on virtue and vice.
I think Gerry Keenman ought to visit Saudi. See what a strict religious interpretation buys you! All the more reason to fight Christian Nationalism in this country!
Well, speaking of animals, Netanyahu issues a Christmas message to his Christian friends in the United States as he beheads Palestinian babies in Gaza with 2000 lb bombs!
Four Palestinian pregnant women carrying white flags, trying to get to a hospital, shot dead by the IDF and run over with bulldozers, their corpses, all eight of them, left to rot. This is not new. Israel ran over American Rachel Corrie with a bulldozer, twice, while she was alive and peacefully protested the illegal destruction of Palestinian homes in the West Bank.
The Christmas Eve Bombing of a refugee camp, the new Israeli trademark in its slaughter campaign, the complicity of the United States in full force as Netanyahu congratulates his US Christian friends, they too love genocide when it comes to an incarcerated population of innocents that can’t defend themselves, the overwhelming military power of the US provided Israeli war machine on full display as it drops US-made two thousand pound bombs on a populous armed with slingshots!
On Christmas Eve followed by further massacre, for the viewing pleasure of Christians in the United States, on Christmas Day!
As we pray the birth of our Lord and Savior, the Prince of Peace, and blow up babies in an open air prison! Just so much fun to watch! The levels of our Christian depravity enshrined for all time in the Holocaust taking place in Gaza as we sit down to have our Christmas Day meal with friends and family.
More Palestinians will die of starvation in the coming weeks than those that have been obliterated by US bombs, starvation a strategic part of the cleansing plan to rid the Palestinian dogs from their own land and give it back to its rightfully “deeded-by-God” owners.
As an old white guy and lifelong Democrat, I won’t be voting blue in the next election, the abstention from voting my redemption from complicity. “Not in my name.” Yes, my abstention is a vote for Team Red, but it’ll be a vote without the stench of dried blood on the ballot.
Write to the White House and your representatives and tell them to “Stop The Carnage!”
And don’t be gaslit by the main-stream US and Israeli propaganda. Speaking out against the State of Israel is NOT anti-Semitic any more than speaking out against your own Government is here at home.
Fuck Netanyahu and Fuck Israel! That’s my Christmas 2023 message!
Trump ’24!!!!
I would say “Be careful what you ask for,” but it would be beyond your intellectual reach.
We saw what Trump did in his first two years in office when he had a super majority – nothing! With the exception of tax cuts for the rich and corporations, ultimately leading to $8 Trillion added to the national debt and loss of two million jobs.
Good luck with your new country! You’ll need it!
I doubt you’ll ever come out of Trump’s ass long enough to see where you’re going!
It’s on you hoss. You can help load the boxcars!
Ironmoped, have you forgotten the absolutely best health care plan in the world (coming soon to a state near you) that the former guy teased was coming in two weeks for over four years? That was something!!!! And he’s still using his health care plan as a campaign promise.
OK – I started to giggle when writing that and can’t stop.
OK, OK – Trump couldn’t pass gas unless he got help. He couldn’t see the sun if it wasn’t pointed out to him. And let’s not even start with… yes, you asked for it, you got it! Infrastructure week!!!!
Oh, I need to breathe, drink some coffee – settle down a bit. That was fun.
Serious time regarding Palestine and Israel – I keep the innocents on both sides in my heart, may Universal Love find the miracles they need to heal.
Those who know better but aren’t doing better I’ve set aside in my meditations. They are getting the FAFO treatment as they are blessed with unintended consequences, sarcastic perfect timing (you know the kind where you say OH PERFECT!!! in that tone of voice that reminds you that you’ve become your parents), and a few other cantrips to thwart fascists and authoritarians I’ve got laying about. Also – at no additional cost I’m flooding the zone with Light of Day – that cleansing sunshine with illuminates all actions and sends cockroaches scurrying for cover.
I’m no use on the physical side but on the spiritual/energy side I have some influence (I know most humans do not believe in energy/spirit but really, what is spirit but that which we humans have not been able to define as of yet. As I see it Dark matter and the extra dimensions are defined mathematically and in physics. Who is to say how it manifests here/now? And what if some of those we’ve historically deemed as crazy were only aware of the extra dimensions in the mathematical unification equation?)
Yeah, I’ve had a lot of time to think lately.
Grey One,
Trump couldn’t pass gas without help? From what I hear, he wears depends and shits all over himself all the time. Literally! Celebrity Apprentice had to stop periodically to, literally, clean him up!
Something to do with the crushed up Adderall he snorts?
Kinzinger says he literally stinks! Not just BO, but shit smell! Prolly why he and Melania have sept in different beds for years!
Not sure I followed your whole note, bit deep for my limited cognitive abilities (I’m a high school dropout – left school at 16 and hitch-hiked to California).
Not only is he using healthcare again, but also the wall he said he already built!
The innocents in Israel and Palestine? More than a bit disproportionate but I get what you’re saying.
Religion – can’t start a war without it!
Not a fan of Israel, or US policy re Israel, and I’ve written a lot of letters about the war to various governments and government officials, but a vote for team red will only ensure more such massacres in the future and reward team red for promoting anti-Islamic and anti-Jewish bigotry to elect more of their team to government positions where they can do more damage.
I hear you Jeff. You’re actually being the adult in the room and I suspect I’m older than you by a large margin.
But I’m at the point where my family and their future is far more important to me than my country, being in the junior varsity of the check out generation. My grand children are tri-nationals, my wife and son bi-nationals, so the options of where to live based on the probability of best outcome relative to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness at the front of mind regarding quality of their lives and their future.
I too have written many times to stop the carnage and will continue to do so but the complicity in the carnage by what I thought was a party of human values, at the highest level, is a bridge too far, a far greater conflict on the near-term horizon with Iran, our military industrial complex beating the drums of war, corporate interest always at the front of everything this country does and stands for.
Look at the subject of the latest in MRFF fights, the NDAA – a record $886 Billion dollar defense budget just passed. US defense spending is greater than the spending of the next ten countries combined. Add in Coast Guard, Dept of Energy nuclear programs and we’re well over a Trillion dollars in annual military spending. Next year will be even bigger as we factor in supplementals and the coming war with Iran. It’s off the hook out of control as we won’t even let Medicare negotiate drug prices with pharma. Absurd! 26 million Americans without health insurance! Homelessness at record levels. America leads the world in childhood poverty at 21%. We’re number 23 in the world in quality of life rankings. Number 47 in life expectancy ranking. The list goes on. I could understand if we were Zimbabwe. But we’re not! We’re the richest country on the planet!
I know a vote for team red (by way of abstention) is a vote for the end of Democracy in this country. My counter argument is that, given the carnage ongoing in Gaza and the West Bank, along with the gaslighting propaganda coming from my own party on behalf of Israel, Democracy has already long since left the station, missing the formal declaration that would follow team red getting back in.
At the end of the day, America is a Corporatocracy leaning toward a cleptocracy as wealth inequalities go through the roof, a dismal outlook for this country looking at any horizon.
America is made up of what I call, “the pretty people,” and everyone else left to fight over the scraps of trickle-down economics.
I fought the healthcare system in this country for a decade trying to get much needed healthcare for a family member. I told my son I was going to make it my lifelong calling to fix this healthcare system. My son’s response, “why would you beat your head against the wall? Just move to a country that already has a good healthcare system!”
The US spends twice the amount of other OECD countries on healthcare with half the outcomes. In other words, healthcare in the US is “for profit,” not “for people!”
OK, off my soapbox. I hear you on the team red vote. I agree.
But I won’t vote for a party that wouldn’t say shit if it had a mouthful when it comes to the obliteration of babies in Gaza!
Some even support it with the old platitude, “Israel has a right to defend itself!” Well so do Palestinians! They can fuck off!
Ironmoped: I agree with your disappointment in the Party. That’s why I’m not a member of that Party or any others. But all is not lost. The younger generations and many older people in that particular party are protesting the actions of the administration regarding the war and policy toward Israel and its government in general. They have forced some change in the administration’s positions, and the debates are just getting started. We’re already seeing younger generations taking positions of leadership in the Party, and that has generated positive change. Biden is the last of his generation in the Party who will serve as President (if elected again).
Helping a Republican get elected into federal government will only make our country’s Israel policy worse, not better. Same with domestic policy. And it won’t teach Biden to think differently about Israel than he does now. Hopefully, grassroots pressure from people like us will convince him and the administration to change course as a matter of political expediency if for no other reason. I’m encouraged that info is leaking out that there are many in the federal government voicing their concern and calling for changes in policy now, and that heated protests are taking place in the Oval Office as we speak.
I get what you’re saying Jeff and agree with you regarding Republicans accelerating the carnage.
I keep writing to everyone I can telling them how much we Democrats love seeing Palestinian babies obliterated by US-made bombs, much the same as I’ve asked Gregg Abbott to put bleachers up along the border so we can watch immigrant babies getting hung up in the razor wire on the buoys in the Rio Grande, reminding them just how much we crave blood sport, my goal to embarrass them into taking action.
I’m sure it falls on deaf ears and doesn’t get past a first-level intern, they get email by the thousands, but I have a record of it so there is some therapeutic value.
It’s embarrassing that we have to rely on the younger generations to save us from ourselves, but I’m glad they’re taking a stance. I suppose in a back-handed sort of way it’s a credit to the older generations for having produced younger folks that can think for themselves.
I talk a lot of smack about not voting for a party I’ve been in forever. It’s my way of grabbing them by the collar and shaking them as if to ask, “what the fuck is wrong with you? Have you lost your fucking mind?”
Another Republican super majority and this country is over, a neo-Christo fascist feudalism in the Project 2025 plan. The dripping irony is that Christians will be worse off as money and power takes complete control.
As Grey One says, “when they tell you who they are, believe them!”
I hear you Jeff. My goal is to get folks to think and I’m probably not doing a very good job of it.
Glad you’re there brother!
All the best!
Ironmoped: you definitely get folks to think and make a lot of sense. I salute you for your efforts. I’m glad you’re here, too!
Ironmoped, not many can keep up with where my mind goes. It’s ok. Not even my late husband (an old Marine) completely understood where my mind took me back then. But he did love me so there is that.
I am also very grateful for the commentators I would not know except for the MRFF. Even though I’ve not met any of you face to face I believe I could call you each friend.
Also – lack of formal education means nothing to me. I thought I wanted to get a Masters back in the day but found the professors wanted rote memorization and repetition of the facts they told us, no curiosity welcome or required.
That’s not me. So I’ve read and researched and explored my way to here/now. I suspect you Ironmoped with your life experiences also have gained much necessary education. As far as I can tell, some of the best learning happens outside the classroom.
Happy New Year to all – even our trolls.
The formal education part is useful but really just a start to real learning. Although a high school drop out, I hold a BS and MBA. I agree, experience is the best teacher.
Lots of folks posting here that “get it,” and that I have a lot of respect for.
Second the Happy New Year part!
All the best!
