“During the past 9 months, there has been a concerted and unmistakable effort to extinguish organized Jewish life at the United States Naval Academy. Notable public examples have included the cancellation of the Days of Remembrance observance, the removal of the Jewish women’s exhibits from Stein Hall in the Jewish Chapel, the removal of books on the Holocaust from the Nimitz library and the discrimination against Jewish faculty and staff at the Academy. As if this weren’t enough, the Superintendent has now unilaterally made the decision to deny the Jewish Midshipmen permission to travel to USAFA this weekend to participate in the Jewish Warrior Weekend retreat. …”

“I should note that last weekend, the Officer Christian Fellowship, the Catholic Midshipmen Club and the Baptist College Ministries were all given permission to attend their religious retreats. …”

— Retired U.S. Navy chaplain, writing on behalf of a group of 75 Jewish midshipmen, Naval Academy graduates currently serving on Active Duty, retired Naval officers, and civilian employees of the Naval Academy

  1. An old Soldier who doesn't support the MRFF October 25, 2025 at 9:48 am

The MRFF has a hundred thousand members big deal! The VFW, Disabled American Veterans and The American Legion combined have over three MILLION members. These are organizations that really care about veterans and not money or publicity.

It is astounding to me that old soldier who despises all things MRFF claims falsehoods with a confidence which is exemplified by those whose life has been protected by their privilege.

For the record, AGAIN, the MRFF isn’t a membership club wherein folks are just waiting to sign up. Instead MRFF CLIENTS are those service critters who have had their religious rights violated by someone (usually a higher up) who looked at the First Amendment and rather than protect it, decided only their faith matters so out the window goes the Constitution and their oath to defend it.

Trust me, that is a club no one wants to be a member of, but aren’t we all grateful we have each other since like onerous duties there is only getting through the thing relatively intact. Believe me, while having not served myself I was adjacent in caretaking my late old Marine husband which taught me community is everything.

Old soldier is very MAGA and is likely taking joy in the suffering of others, something their holy book frowns on, but why let details get in the way of their sincerely held religious belief to practice hate as they desire?

When looking up definitions there is a picture of old soldier for the word putz.

    Mr Weinstein,

Thought about saying these words in private but decided that while I’m confident you know what I’m about to say is accurate others need to know too.

My late husband, an old Marine who was denied an opportunity to rise in the Corps could have used someone like Mikey and the MRFF. A seventh generation pagan in the Asatru faith he was hazed and ridiculed for his sincerely held beliefs. Others went to church on Sundays, he was assigned cleaning toilets.

Nationalist Christians habitually claim only humans indoctrinated in their faith have the ability or skill to be a warrior which is so shortsighted. That said, Sun Tzu is clear about allowing one’s opponent the space to take themselves out of the picture.

After addressing the issue of two humans who tried to use a nightstick on him in a manner other than beating as only a well trained Marine can do the higher ups decided to use the system to remove him from service. And he promptly used his training to escape twice, once from the Marine Corps newly finished escape proof brig. Oops. Guess someone was paying attention in class when everyone thought he was just a screwup.

Why bring up old history? Well because Nationalist Christian’s are repeating it here/now.

Loyalty tests, not to the Constitution but to the orange hued diaper wearing billionaire who never served a day in their life? Yep. Done and done.
Removing anyone from leadership who isn’t a certain pale hue or the correct gender? Yep, done again.

Here’s a hint – it didn’t go well for the racists and bigots last time and I predict unintentional consequences for them this time too.

Mikey, keeping you and yours in my thoughts. These are cursed, um, I mean interesting times so we all need as many good thoughts as possible.

I won’t congratulate you for over 100K clients as the fact you are needed at all to me is just too sad. I will say a hearty well done that you and the team were able help that many service folk to ensure their rights were not destroyed.

I am reminded of the tortoise – slow and steady is the pace that will let me win this race. And the prize? A democracy which lives up to the ideals stated centuries ago.
