Valued MRFF Supporters,

First off, I want to thank you all for making 2014 a truly spectacular year for the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) and our efforts to fortify and defend the wall separating church and state. The Constitutional freedoms that we so cherish are constantly under attack, but thanks to our efforts, as well as the valiant support of MRFF contributors and allies, the religious civil rights of our servicemembers are still largely intact.

For almost a decade, our foundation has served over 39,000 Sailors, Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, cadets, midshipmen, veterans and civilian defense personnel who have encountered the scourge of undue religious coercion, influence, and proselytizing. Your 100% tax-deductible donations to MRFF have served to build a de facto shield defending these brave servicemembers from unconstitutional religious violations and spiritual torment.

As the celebrated news outlet Salon noted in a feature story on our 7-time Nobel Peace Prize-nominated foundation:

This religious malignancy can’t be tolerated in a secular, nationwide fighting force unless you want to create an army of religious terrorists. […] America needs the MRFF. The military protects everyone, all of us, agnostic, gay, liberals, conservatives, swingers and satanists. If only some people and faiths are deemed worthy of service and protection, the military becomes something else, something ugly and dangerous. America should never stand for this kind of intolerance and hate.

Ironically, the effectiveness of our ongoing fight was underscored in a snide anti-Semitic jab thrown by infamous arch-Dominionist and fundamentalist Christian televangelist Pat Robertson, who called me “one little Jewish radical” who is “scaring the pants off” of those who condone or turn a blind eye towards “Christian Jihadists” in the armed services.

Far be it from the one-man force our detractors seek to depict, MRFF’s fight has been the result of the ceaseless work of an array of almost 200 talented and capable leaders, staffers, volunteers, and core supporters. Our civil rights advocacy has resounded across media platforms old and new, shaking the very foundations of Christian fundamentalist supremacy and patiently rebuilding that long-destroyed wall separating church and state within the U.S. military. Your continued support allows MRFF to remain a perpetual thorn in the side of the Christian extremist lobby.
