You are obviously very devoted to your faith and we honor that. I am a mainstream Christian myself, and take comfort in the teachings of Christ not the least of which are to not judge, be compassionate, love your neighbor, and live in peace and harmony.
Now, with that said, we must also realize that there are many other faiths in this world who are comprised of devoted believers as well. Christianity is, as you make very clear, your one true faith. What we have to respect as Americans, is that we are a country made up of many diverse faiths and beliefs. We are not out to stop Christians or anyone else from expressing their faith, praying and worshiping – UNLESS it is on public property. Public property that is paid for by tax dollars from ALL Americans. Everyone’s tax contribution goes into the same pool, and that pool is not exclusively Christian money.
I know that there is nothing I can say to you regarding the origins of our country and the language of our founding fathers to change your perspective, but we were NOT founded as a Christian nation. Great care was taken to avoid that precise construct. Concerns of a theocratic government loomed large for the creators of our constitution. But we are well aware of the revisionist history that is rampant in Dominionist circles, and it is as my saying below…fruitless to argue.
Our armed forces take an oath to defend America and the U.S. Constitution. That does not translate into defense of Christianity. It means defense of America and ALL its citizens of ALL faiths or non-faith. Mr. Weinstein, himself a man of Jewish faith, Jesus’ “chosen” people, is not and would not in anyway be so absurd as to suggest that the military oath is to be viewed and worshiped as a religion.
Mr. Weinstein, and many other of my colleagues here at MRFF are also brave veterans who have served our country to preserve, defend and protect our freedoms. ALL our freedoms. Including the freedom to choose your religion and practice your religion at home, in your church or out in the open – EXCEPT for public property.
I pray that God grant you humility in your faith…

In response to this quote: The MRFF’s Web site is headed by a quote by Weinstein which says, “When one proudly dons a U.S. military uniform, there is only one religious symbol: The American flag. There is only one religious scripture: The American constitution. Finally there is only one religious faith: American patriotism.”
Mr. Weinstein,
I pray that someday you take the time to really listen with an open heart to the Truth. That truth which can only be found in the Christian Bible (God-breathed truth in print spoken word through those whom God used to deliver it). This nation was founded as “…one nation under God…” That God being the only true God of the Trinity. It was not founded in order to worship itself as you state above. Any man whom forgets where all things come from and attempts to rob our God of His just praises is setting himself up for well-deserved destruction. Our forefathers knew something that obviously some of us have forgotten. I pray that we all be ever-mindful of where our blessings have always come from and to whom we are eternally to be grateful (the Living God of Abraham) especially, to have been born in this great country of America. Freedom of religion means just that so, how about taking a step back and allowing us to continue as we choose. I am a veteran and I have served this country in order to protect and ensure that that right above all others would be preserved.
In Him,

MRFF needs to step up and end the disgraceful awrding of the Navy Cross and the Distinguished Service Cross…these medals..based on the “cross pattee” of the Crusades are overtly religious and will inflame the good and peaceful people who follow the religion of peace, Islam…..Would it suprise anyone if MRFF were to do this??????
